    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device making the negative charge, the current flowing in a paper sheet transfer roller or the like prevented as a result of the electric charge injection to toner at the time of cleaning the paper sheet transfer roller. SOLUTION: This is the cleaning device cleaning the toner 7 stuck on the paper sheet transfer roller 25. Accordingly, the device is provided with the cleaning roller 26 consisting of a base material part 26a provided with conductivity and a resistor layer 26b being formed on a periphery of the base material part 26a provided with a specified electric resistance formed on a periphery of the base material part 26, and rotating held in contact with the paper sheet transfer roller 25. The device is provided with a cleaning power source 27 applying cleaning bias voltage in polarity opposite to the static charge polarity of the toner 7 to the base material 26a. Moreover, the device is provided with a cleaning blade 31 removing the toner 7 shifted from the paper sheet transfer roller 25 to the surface on the resistor layer 26b of the cleaning roller 26.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device equipped with a static eliminator having the capability of extending the service life of a photosensitive member and maintaining a good image over a long term by keeping energy at a specified value on the surface of the photosensitive member at a static elimination process on the operation of the static eliminator. SOLUTION: The electrification wire 2a of an electrifier 2 laid in the vicinity of a photosensitive member 3 generates a corona discharge, thereby evenly electrifying the photosensitive member 3. A static eliminator 12 eliminates electric charge residual on the photosensitive member 3. Furthermore, an LED array is used for an irradiation means to form a static latent image under the irradiation of light to the electrified photosensitive member 3, and the energy of the light on the surface thereof is taken at E2. Also, an LED is used for the static eliminator 12 and the energy of light on the surface of the photosensitive member 3 is taken at E1. In this case, the values of E2 and E1 are determined so as to satisfy a relationship as 5×E2>E1>=E2. According to this construction, the occurrence of an image defect due to the optical fatigue of the photosensitive member 3 is prevented.

SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with an electrifying means for uniformly and electrifying the surface of a photoreceptor drum, an exposure means for irradiating the surface of the photoreceptor drum electrified by the electrifying means with exposure light according to with image data and forming an electrostatic latent image, a developing means for developing electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor drum, so as to form a toner image, an intermediate transfer belt 11 to which the toner picture is transferred, a transfer roller 14 for transferring the toner image transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 11 to a printing paper, and a cleaning means 15 for removing toner sticking on the transfer roller 14, and the resistance value of the transfer roller 14 is measured based on a current value flowing through the cleaning means 15, which comes into contact with the transfer roller 14 separated from the intermediate transfer belt 11.

      SOLUTION: This transfer unit 23 is provided with a transfer roller 24 rotating while holding a recording medium 19 in cooperation with an intermediate transfer body 15 and transferring synthetic images formed on the intermediate transfer body 15 on the recording medium 19, a cleaning roller 25 held in rotary contact with the transfer roller 24 for cleaning the transfer roller 24 by attract/ removing a toner 7 stuck on the transfer roller 24, and the high voltage power source 27 generating the voltage in polarity opposite to the charged polarity of the toner 7, impressing transfer bias on the transfer roller 24, impressing the cleaning bias becoming the potential differential larger than the potential differential of the transfer bias with respect of the toner 7 on the cleaning roller 25 and forming the potential gradient between the transfer roller 24 and the cleaning roller 25.
