CONSTITUTION:A color copy put into use with a scanner 1 is A/D converted to output a multi value image signal 9 of three primary colors. A first binary device 2 processes them in a binary manner by respective fixed thresholds and outputs a binary three primary colors signal 10. Further, a lightness calculator 3 calculates lightness from the multi value image signal 9 and outputs a lightness signal 11. A second binary device 4 outputs a binary lightness signal 12. Further, an achromatic color judgement device 5 compares respective values from the multi value image signal 9. When values of respective image signals are near, the color is judged as gray, and the achromatic color judgement device 5 sends a chromatic or achromatic judgement signal 13 so that a selector 6 selects the binary lightness signal. The selector 6 outputs the color of the signal as a color signal 14, and a printing signal generator 7 determines ink of a printer 8 according to the color signal 14.

    • PURPOSE:To output a pseudo variable density picture to a binary picture output device by converting a fetched variable density picture to a multilevel picture so as to minimize a quantized error and applying binarization by a pseudo halftone processing after desired edit and processing. CONSTITUTION:A variable density picture f(x,y) of n-gradation whose reflectance is linear obtained by reading a reflected light of an object by a picture input device 1 and applying A/D conversion thereto is converted into a variable density picture the inverse of f(x,y) by a weight coefficient register 2, an error buffer 3, an adder 4 and a multiplier 5. Then a comparator 7 is used to compare the picture the inverse of f(x,y) with a threshold value, the result is binarized, the output is coded by an encoder 8 to obtain (m+1) multilevel picture g(x,y). The picture g(x,y) is subjected to processing such as magnification/reduction/ rotation by a picture editor 10 and the result of edit g'(x,y) is displayed on a multilevel display device 14 and confirmed. Moreover, a comparator 11 and a dither matrix 12 apply pseudo halftone processing to output the result to a binary picture output device 13.

A brightness calculator 3 calculates a brightness from the picture signal 8, and the value is subjected to a binary conversion with respect to a fixed threshold to be outputted as a black-and white signal 10. An achromatic color judging device 4 converts the picture signal 8 into a coordinate of the same color difference space, the converted value is compared with an achromatic color identification function to output a chromatic color/achromatic color judgement signal 11. A selector 5 selects either the hue signal 9 or the black-and-white signal 10 with the chromatic color/achromatic color judgement signal 11, to output a color signal 12. A printing signal generator 6 decides the ink to output a printing signal 13 to the printer.

    • PURPOSE:To make M pieces of image data selectable from N pieces of image data in its ascending order or descending order by operating N-1 pieces of data comparators in parallel and comparing N pieces of paired image data relatively in the time of N pieces of clock signals. CONSTITUTION:Sixteen pieces of data storage part 101-116 are connected in series and image data 1001-1016 are sequentially transferred. Then each time image data is transferred, its value is compared in parallel by 15 pieces of data comparator 121-135 connected to the data storage parts. The comparison is performed 120 times and the relative comparison of image data is completed by combining all the 16 pieces of paired data. In addition, an output from the data comparators is reflected promptly in sequential order data which corresponds to a descending order by an arithmetic and logic operation part for the initial value of a sequential order 140 and 15 pieces of sequential order addition part 161-175. Therefore, the descending order of each image data is stored in 16 pieces of sequential order storage part 141-156, when the 16th image data is entered. Subsequently, the descending order of high-speed image data is realized and the selection of image data at high speed is possible.
