    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the transmission characteristic of a transmission signal.
      SOLUTION: This transmitter 7 has a substrate 8, a semiconductor circuit 9 arranged on the substrate 8 to generate a transmission signal, an amplifier 11 arranged on the substrate 8 and connected to an output side of the semiconductor circuit 9, a transmission line 12 arranged along a side of the substrate 8 and connected to an output side of the amplifier 11, and an antenna terminal 13 arranged on the substrate 8 and connected to an output side of the transmission line 12. Since the transmission signal amplified by the amplifier 11 is caused to pass through a peripheral edge part of the substrate 8 due to the above configuration, the transmission signal can be prevented from being mixed with other circuit blocks to be able to improve a transmission characteristic of the transmitter 7.

    • PURPOSE: To attain normal operation even when circuit constitution is simple and an input electric field intensity is high a tuner which is provided with a PLL synthesizer using a voltage control oscillator as a local oscillation source for a receiver receiving an RF signal and provided with a gain control circuit at a stage prior to a frequency conversion circuit. CONSTITUTION: The tuner using the PLL synthesizer as the local oscillation source is provided with the gain control circuit 4 at the stage prior to the frequency converter 6 of the tuner. Through the use of the lock detection signal of the PLL synthesizer, when the PLL synthesizer is in an unlocked state, the gain of the gain control circuit 4 is controlled to lower. Otherwise, through the use of a channel selection control signal to the PLL synthesizer, the gain of the gain control circuit 4 is controlled to lower at the time of channel selection.
