    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust DC voltage to an optimum voltage irrespective of fluctuations in AC voltage and to improve a power factor. SOLUTION: The DC power unit comprises a bidirectional switch 10 to be short-circuited to an AC power supply 1 via a reactor 7; an opening/closing time selection means a for comparing an AC voltage applied to a load with a target voltage to select the opening/closing time of the bidirectional switch so that the DC voltage approaches the target voltage; an opening/closing time storage means 18 for storing the opening/closing time of the bidirectional switch according to the load amount; and an opening/closing time selection means b19 for selecting at which time of an opening/closing cycle consisting of two or more opening/closing times per half cycle of the power supply. The closing time stored in the opening/closing time storage means 18 is applied. At least once in two or more opening/closing per half cycle of the bidirectional switch power supply is made to be a closing time adjusted by the closing time selection means a, and at least once is made to be a closing time selected by the closing time selection means b, thereby enabling power rate to be improved while making the DC voltage approach to the target value, irrespective of the fluctuations in the AC voltage.       SOLUTION: This power supply unit includes a bridge rectifying circuit 6 for full-wave-rectifying an alternating current from an AC power supply 1; a reactor 8 connected between the AC power supply and an AC input terminal of the bridge rectifying circuit; a capacitor 10 connected between the AC input terminal 6a and the AC input terminal 6b through a bidirectional switch 9; capacitors 7a, 7b; a zero cross detecting means 12; a bidirectional switch driving signal generating means 13; and a bidirectional switch driving means 14. The capacitor 10 is charged and discharged by using a resonance current with the reactor 8 and by being conduction-controlled once a half period of the bidirectional switch 9 to form a high power factor and a smooth current waveform and to control an output voltage while the noise of the reactor is reduced.

If it is below the predetermined value, the DC voltage command value is decreased.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device of simple constitution wherein a high power factor can be maintained and further higher harmonics can be suppressed.
      SOLUTION: The power supply device comprises: a two-way switch 10 connected between the input end of a rectifying circuit 6, and the connection ends of step-up capacitors; a controlling means 13 that controls opening/closing of the two-way switch 10; and a zero cross detector circuit 12 that detects the zero cross of an alternating-current power supply 1 and inputs a detection signal to the controlling means 13. The controlling means 13 performs closing operation based on a zero cross detection signal when Δdn has passed after input of the zero cross detection signal, and performs opening operation when Δtn has passed after the passage of Δdn n times in the half period of supply voltage. Thus, the controlling means generates smooth current waveform of high power factor to suppress harmonic current and further achieve high efficiency.
