    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical lithium ion secondary battery that has a group of electrodes in which a positive electrode plate where a strip of collector is coated with an active substance and a negative electrode plate where a strip of collector is coated with an active substance are wound in a spiral shape over a plurality of turns via a strip of separator, prevents rupture at the coated part of the positive electrode plate, and can also prevent internal short-circuiting from occurring.
      SOLUTION: A positive electrode lead 9 is connected to a positive electrode collector that is not coated with an active substance in the winding start section of a group of electrodes of the battery.
