摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater which has efficient radiation heating and is capable of removing reducing gases or floating particles of small size in a room. SOLUTION: The heater comprises a radiator 12, heated by the heat of high temperature gas and having holes 19 extending from a heat collecting plane 13 to a radiating plane 14 generating radiation energy, and an oxidation catalyst 17 of platinum or a metal oxide carried on the surface thereof. The radiator is heated from both the heat collecting plane and the radiating plane with high heat transfer rate for realize radiation heating and the oxidation catalyst 17 can decompose the odor component in room air, i.e., hydrocarbons, such formaldehyde or fine particles, such as pollens or tick feces, into water and carbon dioxide through oxidation.

The heating system also has a radiation temperature detection means 36 for detecting temperature in the radiator 23 or the protection guard 27, or the temperature near them. Also, the control section 38 switches to hot air heating operation when temperature detected by the radiation temperature detection means 36 exceeds a specific temperature in radiation heating operation.

SOLUTION: The safety of an apparatus is achieved by detecting the temperature of a radiator 12 or the atmosphere around the radiator at all times by means of a radiator temperature detection means 13, arranged at the inlet of a radiator heating air duct 23 besides being near the radiator 12, thereby detecting the abnormal overheating of the radiator 12 or the temperature of the radiator ambient temperature, which arises when the front of the radiator is covered with a blanket-form object or when the flow of air to the radiator cooling air duct 20 has decreased, and stopping the combustion of a burner 11. Moreover, the quantity of radiation is estimated by the radiator temperature detection means 13, and the quantity of combustion of the burner 11 is controlled by a controller 26 so that it achieves comfortable level of radiation quantity.

Further, even when there are positioned obstructions such as a table and a placed article frontally of the apparatus body to interrupt the warm air exhausted from the warm air blow-off outlet 25 the circulation flow exhausted from the circulation flow exhaust outlet 23 flows beyond the obstructions, whereby the air circulation flow is formed in the room to promote mixing of the entire of air in the room.

A detector part 41 is placed at a position where the switching means 34 is switched to the side for a radiant heating operation and at the same time the tip end of the board 39 presses a switch.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote heat transfer from a high temperature gas to a radiant body in a space heater provided with the radiant body. SOLUTION: This space heater comprises a high-temperature generating means 11, and a heat-transfer promoting means 13 finding a stream of a high temperature gas. A radiant body 12 comprises a heat collection face 14 heated by the high temperature gas, and a radiant face 15 generating a radiant energy. An air path 17 connects an air path 16 for heating the radiant body to the high-temperature gas-generating means 11. In the above constitution, the high temperature gas stream is disturbed by the heat-transfer promotion means 13 provided on the face 14 of the radiant body 12, and development of a boundary layer to be generated on the heat-collecting face 14 is restrained. Accordingly, heat of the high temperature gas can be efficiently transferred to the radiant face 15, and a high temperature of the radiant body can be obtained, even when the temperature of the high temperature gas is comparatively low.
