    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner unit which can be readily mounted and dismounted by providing an exhaust muffler at an upper end of a heat exchanger of a water heater, and a partitioning plate at a lower end thereof, respectively, and fixing the exhaust muffler and the partitioning plate to an outer case through a heat insulation plate. SOLUTION: A burner unit 1 comprises a heat insulating packing 3 which is stacked to an upper surface flange 2, and a heat insulator which is stacked to an upper periphery of a burner heat case inside thereof. A partitioning plate 8, being in contact with the inside of the burner head case, is fixed to a lower portion of a heat exchanger 6 which is heated by the burner unit 1, while, at an upper portion thereof, an exhaust muffler 13 is provided so as to be fixed to a case 11 through an exhaust port 9 and a heat intercepting plate 10. Both of the side surfaces of a metal fitting 14 which is fixed to the partitioning plate 8 serve as guide plates 14A at the time of inserting the burner unit 1 into the partitioning plate 8 of the heat exchanger 6, the rear face pinches the flange 2, and the other end thereof is fixed to the case 11 through the heat insulation plate 10. In this way, the burner unit 1 can be singly removed, thus the efficiency of maintenance operation can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent deformation, deterioration of a burner wall due to high temperature burning exhaust gas and a temperature rise of a burning apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The burning apparatus has a burner 2 in a bottom, a burning chamber 1 having a burner wall 3 on an upper periphery of the burner 2, and a blower case 4 formed with an air supply passage 5 outside the wall 3. Many air holes 6 are formed at the wall 3 of the burner 2, and a deflector 7 for feeding the air fed through the holes 6 along the wall 3 to the side of the chamber is provided. Thus, since the air flows upward along the wall 3, burned exhaust gas at a high temperature is not brought into contact with the wall 3, and hence deformation, deterioration of the wall 3 and a temperature rise of the apparatus can be prevented. Further, since excess air rate of the exhaust gas is not raised, a decrease in heat exchanging efficiency is small.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a combustion device applicable to a hot water supply heater capable of obtaining stabilized combustion properties and a stabilized ignition performance. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 3 is installed to the lower part of a heat exchanger. The combustion chamber 3 is provided with an air flow passage 5 on the top of a side wall section on both sides. An ignition electrode 6, which penetrates the air flow passage 5 from the side wall of the combustion chamber 3, is mounted thereto by way of a mounting board 9. A hole 10 is installed to a side wall section 4 of the combustion chamber 3 so as to maintain an insulation span between a rod 7 of the ignition electrode 6 and the side wall section. Furthermore, a cover 12 is installed in the air flow passage 5 where the cover 12 is mounted to an insulator 8 of the electrode 6 in such a fashion that it may be close contact with the insulator. The cover envelops the ignition electrode 5 and the hole 10 from the outside of the side wall section 4 of the air flow passage 5. Since the electrode 6 and the hole 10 are covered with the cover 12, the combustion air in the air flow passage 5 will not flow out from the hole 10, thereby eliminating the generation of blow-out or carbon monoxide. Furthermore, no dew-drops adhere to the ignition electrode 6, which prevents the insulation properties from being degraded.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of fire accident and the damage of equipment by fixing one end surface of a heat receiving plate made of a material good in thermal conductivity to the wall surface of a flue duct and mounting a temperature detector, which stops the operation of a heating unit when an exhaust temperature and a temperature in the equipment rise to an abnormal level, on the other end part of the heat receiving plate. CONSTITUTION:One end surface of a heat receiving plate 14 made of a material good in thermal conductivity such as a copper plate is fixed with screws to the wall surface of a flue chamber 10 while the other end surface thereof is led outside a heat exchanger through the interior of a heat insulating material 11, and a temperature detector 15 of a safety means is mounted on the other end part of this heat receiving plate 14. A temperature fuse 15a as a component of the temperature detector 15 is constituted in such a type that the resin part of the temperature fuse is melted when the heat receiving plate reaches a rated temperature and that a contact is opened by an internal spring pressure to interrupt an electric current, and is covered with an insulating tube 16 and a protective tube 17. With respect to the ON/OFF operation of the temperature fuse 15a, a lead plug 18 which electrifies a heating unit 7 is connected to the heating unit by a connection terminal 19. A temperature detector allowing the use of a bimetal type thermostat 15b may also be mounted to the heat receiving plate 14 with a mounting fitting 19.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent attachment of soot to the ignition electrodes and fuel supply device and deterioration of the ignition electrodes and fuel supply device due to temperature rise by extending the guide tube to the combustion chamber face and making the tube tapered off. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical combustion chamber 1 with a seat has a water pipe section 2 and a fuel supply device 3 is placed in the combustion chamber 1. The ignition electrodes 3a ignite the fuel supply device 3. The guide tube 4 is provided with an opening 6 around the discharge hole 5 of the fuel supply device 3 and the plane 1 of the combustion chamber is tapered off at 4a. A middle tube 7 has a plurality of air discharge holes 8 on the wall face which stands upright at the center of the combustion chamber 1. A combustion aiding tube 9 is provided vertically on the outer circumference of the middle tube 7 concentrically with it and an opening section 9a is provided opposite to the fuel supply device 3 and a plurality of combustion gas passages 10 are provided on the lower circumferential wall. Since the guide tube 4 is extended to the plane 1 of the combustion chamber and it is tapered off at 4a, the discharge speed of the mixed gas of the fuel with the air that is discharged from the opening 6 of the guide tube 4 is raised and the inner pressure of the guide tube 4 becomes higher than the inner pressure of the combustion chamber 1, part of the flame thereby does not flicker in the guide tube 4.
