CONSTITUTION:In excavation of a tunnel by a shield machine, segments 1 are assembled in the shape of a ring on the tail side of a shield machine, a reaction force generated when the shield machine is forced to effect propulsion in a state that a jack shoe 3 of a jack device for thrust located between the end part of the segments and the shield machine is forced into contact with the ends of the assembled existing segments 1 is received. In this method, a stiffening plate 10 having width narrow than the thickness of the segment is arranged almost at the central part in the direction of thickness of the segment between the jack shoe 3 and the end part of the segment 1. A compression reaction by the jack shoe 3 is exerted almost on the central part in the direction of thickness of the end part of the segment 1 through the stiffening plate 10.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the shield execution without moving earth by excavating widely the ground having high water content with a shield cutter provided with specific times of the diameter of an outside diameter of a shield machine, and separating earth into solid and liquid to consolidate and fill them in the peripheral space around the shield machine. CONSTITUTION:An enlarged shield cutter 2 capable of sending excavated earth backward of the peripheral surface of a shield machine 1 and provided with 2-3 times of the diameter of an outside diameter of the shield machine 1 is provided to the front end of the shield machine 1, and the shield machine 1 is driven forward while subsequently excavating the ground widely. After that, the earth is stirred with the shield cutter 2, and after the earth is separated into water and solid, they are continuously sent to the peripheral space made around the shield machine 1 caused by excavating the ground widely to fill them in a consolidated state. Measuring instruments 3 are installed on the ground right above a shield driving section and deal with the rising and falling of the peripheral ground with the consolidation. According to the constitution, a shield execution can be carried out without moving earth.
