SOLUTION: The method for automatically milking the dairy animals, especially cows comprises (a) a step of driving a teat cup for milking the teat of the dairy animal, (b) a step of measuring milking parameters for obtaining the milking parameters during the milking of the teat in the step (a), and (c) a step of stopping the teat cup when a stopping threshold is reached. The stopping threshold is determined at least partially by the milking parameters. The device for automatically milking the dairy animals, especially cows comprises a driving means for driving the teat cup, a measuring means for milking parameters during milking the teat, a stopping means for the teat cup and a means for generating a threshold signal to show that the stopping threshold is reached. The stopping means is actuated by the threshold signal, and the means for generating the threshold signal transmits the signal corresponding at least partially to the milking parameters.

The method of milking the animal such as the milk cow comprises a tending step for tending the milking treatment and/or the body condition of the animal by temperature measurement. The tending step includes the measurement of the temperature at least of a part of the teat and/or over the length of the udder following the teat, especially over the whole of the teat and/or the whole of the udder.
