    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an exhaust gas absorbent which can remarkably improve the absorption efficiency by utilizing the properties of a porous material having a large specific surface area as a means for absorbing and removing hazardous components such as nitrogen oxides NOx contained in exhaust gas, and which has combinedly has the properties as a solution absorbent. SOLUTION: A porous material of an adsorptive material having micropores 2 is used as the exhaust gas absorbent 1. Liquid parts 3 in which an alkaline substance such as sodium hydroxide is dissolved are carried on the surface of the material part 1a of the gas absorbent 1 so as to have each angstrom or micrometer thickness and size. When the exhaust gas passes through the inside of the pores 2, the hazardous components are taken into the liquid parts 3 by chemical reactions to be removed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
