    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and thickness of a power module, and to reduce wiring inductance and electromagnetic interference of internal devices. SOLUTION: Internal terminals h4 and h5 are extended from an outer frame d4 while superposing halfway and the lower internal terminal h4 is further extended stepwise and then wire bonded is performed directly to the upper surface thereof. During operation, currents are fed reversely through the internal terminals h4 and h5 thus attaining an effect for reducing wiring inductance. The internal terminals h4-h6 are supported by an integrated bridge portion d6 of a resin case d. Different sections divided by a bridge portion d5 is cut by the internal terminal h4 and three switch circuits of a step-up/down converter including a step-up section and operated in parallel while time sharing are arranged in different sections. The bridge portions d5-d7 and the internal terminals h1-h6 are laid on a planar circuit mounting surface parallel with a circuit mounting surface a5 thus thinning the power module.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step-up/step-down chopper circuit where a PWM control range is large and high efficiency can be achieved even in a region having a low PWM control range.
      SOLUTION: The series circuit of a first main transistor 4 and a first main diode 6 is connected to a DC input voltage 1. A filter capacitor 13, the series circuit of a second main diode, and a second main transistor are connected to the output load side. A filter reactor 7 is connected to the junction point between the series circuits of the first main transistor 4 and the first main diode 6, and that between the series circuits of the second main diode 12 and the first main transistor 8. Effective resonance capacitors 5, 9 are connected between the collector and the emitter of the first main transistor 4 and those of the second one 8. Soft switching is made except a light-load current region. In the light-load region whose pulse width is close to resonance time or smaller, PWM control hard switching is performed by a first auxiliary transistor 2 or a second one 11.

      SOLUTION: A series circuit composed of a first transistor 4 and a first diode 6 is connected to a DC power supply 1 in parallel therewith, and a series circuit, composed of a capacitor 13, a second diode 12 and a second transistor 8, is connected to an output load side in parallel therewith. A first reactor 7 is connected to the connection point of the first transistor 4 and the first diode 6, and to the connecting point of the second diode 12 and the second transistor 8. Effective resonance capacitors 5, 9 are connected in parallel between the collector of the first transistor 4 and the emitter of the second transistor 8, and the collector currents of the transistors are made to flow to the resonance capacitors 5, 9, when the first and the second transistors 4, 8 are turned off, to make the resonance capacitors perform soft switchings. When charges accumulated in the resonance capacitor 5 are discharged, and the charge of the resonance capacitor 5 becomes zero, the first transistor 4 is tuned on, to make the resonance capacitor perform zero-voltage switching.
