    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide apparatus for carbonization having a container vessel with facilitated taking in/out of articles to be processed and capable of uniformly performing the carbonization of the materials to be treated in the container in the carbonization chamber.
      SOLUTION: The invention relates to the apparatus comprising a plurality of container box 9 regularly arranged in a horizontal plane in the carbonization chamber as the container vessels for the material to be treated, wherein the container box 9 has a basket like structure having sides and bottom made of mesh, and the box has an oblong horizontal cross section with notched parts 10 on four corners, as a result a vertical spaces 12 are regularly formed in a horizontal plane at the position where the notched parts 10 confront, and then when the container vessels are placed on a carrier 8 and put in to the carbonization chamber the materials to be treated which are distributed in each container box 9, are set to be uniformly carbonized by vertical flow of hot air in the space 12.

This enables the time for cooling the furnace inside to be shortened since, when the cooling of the furnace inside is carried out, the heat insulating material 10a is moved to make the parallel space δ between the surface of the outer wall 9 and it, an ascending air current is produced into the space between the heat insulating material 10a and the outer wall 9 which open the space δ, and by this ascending air current the convection cooling of the outer wall 9 is performed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of heat insulating materials for preventing heat dissipation in a gasification apparatus of vegetable organic substances, and to obtain clean gasified gas with little heat loss. SOLUTION: The gasification apparatus comprises a vertical gasification chamber 1, a carbonizing chamber 3 divided by partition walls 2 and concentrically arranged at the outer peripheral side of the gasification chamber 1, and a high-temperature reforming chamber 4 arranged peripherally at the lower part of the gasification chamber 1. The vegetable organic substances A supplied from the upper part of the carbonizing chamber 3 are pyrolytically decomposed by indirectly heating from the gasification chamber 1, and the carbonized matter B is supplied to the gasification chamber 1 through a pass 6 arranged at the lower part of the partition walls 2 while a part of the pyrolysis gas C is returned to the lower part of the carbonizing chamber 3 from the upper part of the carbonizing chamber 3 and the rest is introduced into the high-temperature reforming chamber 4. The reformed gas F is fed to the gasification chamber 1 and the carbonized matter B supplied to the gasification chamber 1 is reacted with a gasifying agent E to generate the gasified gas G mainly composed of CO and H 2 .
