    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent optical characteristic such as low haze, low birefringence and high light transmittance, also having combinedly high stiffness, high surface hardness and high toughness, and is excellent in continued productivity.SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin composition includes: a methacrylic resin (A); and a polyvinyl acetal resin (B) obtained from polyvinyl alcohol resin with ≥500 viscocity-average degree of polymerization and having the content of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal of 100 ppm or less, in a mass ratio (A)/(B) of 99/1 to 82/18. The dumbbell testpiece obtained by injection molding of the composition has a haze value of 0.5% or less; and in-plane retardation value at 589 nm wavelength measured at a 2 mm thick part of the dumbbell testpiece obtained by injection molding of the composition is 20 nm or less.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate filament nonwoven fabric capable of producing an extra-fine filament nonwoven fabric by treatment with water without using any chemical agent or the like.
      SOLUTION: The nonwoven fabric comprises conjugate filaments each composed of (A) a water-soluble thermoplastic polyvinyl alcohol 90-99.99 mol% in saponification degree and (B) a thermoplastic polymer and splittable longitudinally and having a fineness of 0.2-8 dtex. In this nonwoven fabric, the thermoplastic polymer (B) is splittable into extra-fine filaments by dissolving off the polyvinyl alcohol (A) with water, the resulting extra-fine filaments being each 0.0005-1.5 dtex in fineness and each cross-section area thereof accounting for 0.05-95% of each of the conjugate filaments.
