摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a substantial effective volume for reaction by housing granular sticking carriers to be stuck with microorganisms into a reactor body and constituting said sticking carriers of plural kinds of carriers which are different in specific gravity and/or grain size. CONSTITUTION:The granular sticking carriers 9 to be stuck with the mi croorganisms are housed into the reactor body 8 and the sticking carriers 9 are constituted of plural kinds of the carriers (a), (b) which are different in the specific gravity and/or grain size. The carriers having the larger specific gravity or the smaller grain sizes form a lower fluidized bed if the sticking carriers are maintained in the fluidized state. On the other hand, the carriers having the smaller specific gravity or the larger grain size form the upper fluidized bed. As a result, the region where the vortexes to decrease the amt. of the living things to be held in the reactor is decreased and the permissible load is increased as compared to the fluidized bed consisting of one kind of the carrier intended only for the sticking of the biological membrane.

CONSTITUTION:Low-concn. waste water (e.g., sewage) contg. the relatively much suspended matter is admitted as counter current flow from above into a reaction vessel 3 having the packed bed 6 packed with the carrier stuck with anaerobic microorganisms. The suspended matter is removed by the adsorption and filtration effect of the packed bed 6 and the decomposable components are gasified by the action of the anaerobic bacteria sticking to said carrier. The clogging of the upper layer 8 of the packed bed by the suspended matter is removed by the metabolic gas or inert gas blown from a back washing blower 9a near the lower part of the packed bed part layer 8. As a result, the clogging in the upper layer of the packed bed by the suspended matter is surely eliminated without discharging the anaerobic bacteria.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of anaerobic bacteria self-granule (hereinafter referred to as G-sludge), by coating the surface of the anaerobic bacteria self- granule formed in an anaerobic upward flow sludge blanket reaction container with a synthetic or natural polymer gel. CONSTITUTION:For example, G-sludge is formed in a UASB (anaerobic upward flow sludge blanket) reaction container using artificial waste water of which the nutrients are adjusted on the basis of sucrose. This G-sludge is drawn out from the UASB container and drained to be stirred in an aqueous solution containing an acrylamide monomer and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide as polymerizable monomers and beta-dimethylaminopropionitrile as a polymerization promoter to allow the chemical agents to penetrate into the surface layer of G-sludge. The impregnated G-sludge is taken out and drained to be stirred in an aqueous solution of potassium persulfate being a polymerization initiator intermittently and gently and polymerization is performed to form gel beads.

As a result, the sludge flocs raised by the metabolyzing gas or upward current are efficiently separated to the gas and sludge in the zone 6. The sludge flocs are gravity-settled by the circulating flow and is returned again to the reaction device.

The mechanism 3 is divided to a gas lift tube 11 and a gravity settling part 12 by a partition plate 10 and is formed with a gas reservoir 13. As a result, the contact between the waste water and the living things is improved by the stirring effect of the gas and the clogging and drift by the inflow of suspended matter are prevented.
