    • PURPOSE: To manufacture a pipe made of an activated metal with an excellent inner surface condition without causing a seizure trouble, by practicing a hot extrusion process under a condition wherein a lubricating medium packed inside a billet and a mandrel are isolated from each other through a sleeve.
      CONSTITUTION: A lubricating medium 2 is packed in a gap formed between the inner surface of a tubular billet 1 made of an activated metal and the outer surface of a sleeve 3 inserted into the billet 1. A tip of the sleeve 3 is extended out of the end plane of the billet 1 toward the extruding direction;a flange 3A is formed in another end of the sleeve 3 and is fitted into a cavity 1A formed in the end plane of the billet 1; hereby, the leak of the lubricating medium 2 toward the opposite direction to the extrusion is intercepted. This assembly A of the billet and sleeve is inserted into a container 5, a mandrel 11 is fully inserted into the assembly A, and a hot extrusion is practiced. Hereupon, the extrusion is carried out under a condition wherein the sleeve 3 is isolating the mandrel 11 from the lubricating medium 2 packed in the inner surface of the billet 1, so that the lubricating medium 2 does not cause a change in its viscosity during the extrusion process, and the generation of scratch flaws is diminished.

    • PURPOSE: To peform by means of a pair of tools a stable expansion of a pipe from a difficult forming mother metallic pipe with thinning and drawing, by cuttig the mouth part of a mother pipe to make thinner in advance, and by piercing a drawing die bearing and a drawing plug bearing to expand the pipe.
      CONSTITUTION: A supporting rod 5 is inserted in a mother pipe 3 having been cut and thin walled at its pipe end outer circumference, and then a plug bearing 2 is screwed at the tip of the rod 5 so as to coincide with the hole center of a die bearing 1. Then the bearing 2 is placed at the position to face a bearing 1 by the elongation of the main cylinder 4 while bringing a subcylinder 10 in contact with the rear end surface of the mother pipe 3. Then a cross head 8 is advanced by the elongation of the apparatus 10 and the tip of the mother pipe is expanded by the bearing 2 to form a mouthing so far as the outer diameter not to get larger than the inner diameter of the bearing 1. After that a mouthing part 3A is inserted through an annular space made by the die 1 and plug, and a carriage 13 is moved to left, and a core 11 is fitted to the inside of mouthing part 3A. It is grasped by a chuck 12 and the carriage 13 is moved to right to expand and draw the pipe.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the yield and to cut the time, without machining the inside or outside of the end of a mother pipe of titanium and zircaloy or the like, by adding a cylinder device for expanding the pipe and a traveling cylinder device for slide-move fitting of a die bearing to draw in expanding and thinning its wall thickness.
      CONSTITUTION: A supporting rod 4 mounting a drawing plug bearing 5 freely detachably on its tip is fitted to a cylinder device to make said 4 move reciprocatory on the center axis of drawing. A drawing die stand 6 is insertfitted with the die bearing 8 to freely advance or retreat in the direction of drawing, and a traveling cylinder device 9 is arranged to move them. The pipe end of a mother pipe A which is coverinserted to the supporting rod 4 is faced to the pipe expanding and forming tapered part 5A of a drawing plug bearing 5. Then the said part 5A and a die bearing 8 is fixed at its prescribed position, a cylinder device 13 is fitted to introduce a pipe expanding force from the rear and of the mother pipe A to the forward direction. Next, a carriage 14 is advanced to expand and thin the wall of the mother pipe A for drawing through the annular space formed by the drawing die bearing 8 and the drawing plug bearing 5.

    • PURPOSE: To make a lubricant scattered into an inner hole of a base material adhere quickly and easily to the whole surface of the inner hole by holding a tubular extruding base material so as to be horizontal and turnable on a rotary supporting member.
      CONSTITUTION: A billet 2 is fed onto a pair of rotary rollers 35, 36, and also a sprinkling machine base 12 is advanced toward the billet 2 by a cylinder 13. A sprinkling tube 1 goes into an inner hole 2a of the billet 2, the machine base 12 is stopped at a fixed position, and a rotary feed member is turned by rotating a prime mover 11. A lubricant in a lubricant tank 5 is fed into the sprinkling tube 1, inclined in the axial direction extending over the longitudinal direction of the peripheral side of the sprinkling tube 1, or the lubricant of an equal quantity is discharged and scattered uniformly extending over the overall length of the inner hole 2a from the slit-shaped sprinkling hole 1a in which a width of slit grooves is different. As the billet 2 rotates by the rotary rollers 35, 36, the lubricant is made to adhere and applied uniformly and automatically to the whole surface of its inner hole 2a.
