    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure, by a simple structure, air tightness with a piping member fitted to a tubular shaped cylindrical part for piping connection provided on a body for a scavenging valve in a carburetor for stratified scavenging.
      SOLUTION: A circumferential groove 13 is formed over the all circumference of a tubular extension 8a of the body 8 for the scavenging valve, a side wall surface 13b on its one side is formed in a slant face and a rubber boot 9 fitted to the tubular extension is installed with an inward ridge 9a of the rubber boot merged in the circumferential groove. The circumferential ridge of the elastic piping member is received in the circumferential groove formed in the outer peripheral surface of the tubular extension to form a labyrinth seal structure with respect to an air flow of air leakage. Furthermore, the circumferential ridge is pressed in the circumferential groove by fastening a fastener member, for instance a band, and as the circumferential groove is formed to be narrow toward a groove bottom, the circumferential ridge is resiliently deformable while being pressed in, so that a close contact force between the circumferential groove and the circumferential ridge in increased and the air tightness can be further enhanced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of fuel economy or exhaust performance in the long-term use of a sliding throttle valve type carburetor.
      SOLUTION: The amount of fuel injection is adjusted by disposing a small venturi 4b in a suction passage 2, disposing a valve body 3 having a flat plate part 3a for opening and closing an opening thereof, disposing a tubular body 18 communicated with a main injection hole 17 in a fuel storing chamber 11a, inserting a needle-shaped member 16 into the tubular body, and displacing the needle-shaped member 16 by the rotation of a valve opening/closing input shaft 6 for opening and closing the valve body by external manipulation. In a narrow open valve state close to an idle state, a strong negative pressure can be generated against a fuel injection nozzle by opening only the small venturi, thereby improving fuel atomization performance in the narrow open valve state. Additionally, since a wall-shaped part of the valve body is slidingly contacted with the opening of the small venturi, there is no part allowing changes in gap during the valve opening/closing. Therefore, the part having a risk of abrasion due to engine vibrations or the like can be eliminated, and the initial performance on fuel economy, exhaust characteristics, or the like can be maintained over the long term.

An accelerating pump 31 is structured by inserting a plunger 32 into a cylinder 29 arranged perpendicular to the valve chamber 24 of the carburetor body 21. The plunger 32 engages with a cam groove 61 on an external peripheral surface of the throttle valve 25 by a spring. A fuel inlet and outlet fuel inlet and outlet port of the cylinder 29 is communicated with a passage connecting the constant pressure fuel chamber 43 to a fuel injecting hole 3a at a downstream position from a check valve 4 and at an upstream position from a fuel jet 37.
