    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mailbox and mail collection system capable of reducing a collection time of the mail.
      SOLUTION: The mailbox 100 includes: a mail opening 1; a mail storage part 2; an alien substance storage part 3; an outer lid 5 which is disposed at the back side of the mail opening 1, moves when the mail and the alien substance are mailed, and releases the mail opening 1; and an inner lid 6 for moving by the mail mailed into the mail opening 1 and guiding the mail to the mail storage part 2. The mailbox includes: an outer lid switch 59A for detecting movement of the outer lid 5; an inner lid switch 59B for detecting movement of the inner lid 6; and a control circuit 61 for determining whether or not the mail is in the mail storage part 2 and whether or not there is an alien substance in the alien substance storage part 3 in a prescribed period on the basis of the outer lid movement signal from the outer lid switch 59A and an inner lid movement signal from the inner lid switch 59B.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple structured curbstone block with low production costs, which guides pedestrians from a footway to a pedestrian crossing or from a pedestrian crossing to a road with safety during night.
      SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 5 is placed within the body 2 of a curbstone block laid along the borderline between a road and a footway. The block body 2 made of a recycled plastic and molded into a prescribed shape has an opening at its upper part where a luminous chamber 3 and an electricity accumulation chamber 4 are formed. The light-emitting device 5 incorporates an LED 51 and a baseboard 54 to control the light-emission of LED. A transparent surface-emission plate 6 is fixed to cover the top surface of the luminous chamber 3. A light dispersion surface 61 is formed nearly all over the inner side face of the transparent surface-emission plate 6. An electricity accumulation body 7 is arranged within the electricity accumulation chamber 4, and a solar battery panel 8 is installed to cover the top face of the electricity accumulation chamber 4.
