The mailbox includes: an outer lid switch 59A for detecting movement of the outer lid 5; an inner lid switch 59B for detecting movement of the inner lid 6; and a control circuit 61 for determining whether or not the mail is in the mail storage part 2 and whether or not there is an alien substance in the alien substance storage part 3 in a prescribed period on the basis of the outer lid movement signal from the outer lid switch 59A and an inner lid movement signal from the inner lid switch 59B.

A linear Fresnel lens 8 is bent into an arcuate shape along a number of parallel linear prism protrusions disposed on the surface thereof so as to cover the underside of the LEDs 11 in an arcuate shape. The linear Fresnel lens 8 condenses light beams from the LEDs 11 in the width direction of the road to form the fan-shaped light, which is irradiated downward so as to project the linear light on the snowy road along the outer line or the like.
