    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional porous body improving contaminated water quality caused by eutrophication or heavy metals in lakes or the like.SOLUTION: Coarse aggregates are bonded by a binder containing a functional material like hydroxyapatite and magnesium hydroxide having a water quality improving function, and a lot of pores are formed among the aggregates. The contact area of the functional material with the exterior becomes large to efficiently improve the water quality. Since the powdery functional material does not flow out even in flowing lakes or the like, the water quality can be efficiently improved. Since hydroxyapatite adsorbs heavy metals, it adsorbs heavy metals accumulated in bottom mud of the lakes or the like to improve the bottom sediment. Since magnesium hydroxide is positively charged, it attracts negatively charged phytoplankton and reduces water bloom to improve the water quality.
