摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce or make unnecessity of use of powder and oscillation of a mold by fitting a ceramic body containing hexagonal system boron nitride to solidified shell developing part in inner face of the water-cooled mold. CONSTITUTION:The water-cooled mold for continuous casting is constituted by fitting the ceramic body containing hexagonal system boron nitride to at least the solidified shell developing part in the inner face thereof. Content of the hexagonal system boron nitride in the ceramic is made to be 50-97wt.%. The ceramic body is formed with small pieces and fitted with stickness. Components except h-BN in the ceramic are made to contain AlN, Si3N4, Al2O3, SiO2, Al5Si2O13, B4C, CaB6, Si2Al3O7N, etc. By this method surface characteristic of a cast slab is made to good and the yield can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a cast slab having excellent quality at high speed by solidifying molten metal below the molten metal surface through the inner curving surface of heat insulating part to the cast molten metal and continuous part for solidifying the molten metal at the upper part of a mold. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of the copper-made mold 1, ceramic pices 3 are stuck with a layer mixing organsic dahesive and metal powder. This ceramic pieces 3 vary the thickness step by step in the casting direction of the copper-made mold 1 (i.e., the thickness is reduced in the drawing direction). The ceramic 5 having the inner curving surface 4 formed with the heat insulating part 5a to the molten steel and the continuous part 5b for solidifying the molten metal to the upper end or the upper part of the word 1, is disposed on the whole periphery. Further, by arranging a heat insulating space 11 for permitting super heating quantity to low level in the heat insulating part, partial stickness off metal to the heat insulating part 5a can be prevented. The molten metal 7 is poured into the mold constituted in this way from a submerged nozzle 6 and the solidification is executed from solidified starting point 8.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the yield of product and to economize energy by scanning respectively the edge part of a hot billet by an eddy current type detector and the broad surface part by an optical detector, comparing the detected value of a flaw with a standard flaw decision value and determining the finishing route. CONSTITUTION:A surface thermometer 11 is provided in front of an eddy current type flaw detector 12 and the surface temp. of a billet 14 is controlled via spray water 9. The flaw in an edge part 19 is detected by the eddy current type flaw detector 12. The broat surface of the billet 14 which is cut by a cutter 13 and is polished is scanned by an optical flaw detector 17 such as a laser beam, mercury lamp, etc. in the position where the temp. of said surface decreases to >=900 deg.C. The flaw information detected by the detectors 12 and 17 is compared with a standard decision value in each position of the billet 14 by a calculator and the finishing route of the direct feeding to a rolling line and conditioning line or the like is determined. The yield of the product is improved and energy is conserved by the rationalized flaw treatment.

摘要： PURPOSE:To constrain the generation of red smoke and splash and to improve a working environment by involving under water the hume jet stream generated between the cast billet lower part and a water level by providing a water wheel in a water tank. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the water wheels 4, 5 driven by rotating in the reverse direction each other are arranged in a water tank 2 and the rotary direction of the water wheels 4, 5 is in the direction involving the gas jet stream injected from a gas cutting torch 3. At the corner part and bottom center part of the water tank 2 a guide plate 6 is provided so as to reduce the resistance of a vortex arisen by the rotation of the water wheels 4, 5. The bottom plate 2a of the water tank 2 is made so as to open and close by an air cylinder 7 in order to discharge the water in the tank 2. Against the hume generated from the upper part of a cast billet 1 a hood 8 is provided so as to come under water by being sucked by the oxygen jet of the gas cutting torch 3. Consequently the red smoke generated from the cast billet lower part is invoived under water to prevent the scattering and the generation of a splash can also be reduced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the slippage between the shell of a molten metal and a casting mold and to improve the structure of a billet in continuous casting by oscillating the billet in its casting direction at a low frequency large amplitude and high frequency small amplitude, and oscillating the same at a high frequency small amplitude in the direction orthogonal to the casting direction. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a DC motor 8 is converted to the oscillation of a frame 4 by a speed reducer 7 and an eccentric cam 5, and is transmitted to a casting mold 1 on a receiving base 2 for the casting mold. The oscillation at a low frequency large amplitude in this stage is accomplished by a conventional method. A thyristor inverter device 13 which converts the DC by a thyristor rectifier 12 and an inverter control device 15 to high frequency AC is interposed in parallel in the power feed circuit for a DC motor 8, and a high frequency transformer 18 and a capacitor 17 are interposed in the DC circuit. The motor 8 impresses a high frequency small oscillation with its revolution and transmits the oscillation to a casting mold 1. The high frequency oscillation is made into the small oscillation in the casting direction and in the direction orthogonal thereto. The slippage of a shell and the lubricity of powder are improved by such oscillation, whereby much columnar crystal is converted to equi-axed crystal and the separation and floatation of the impurities therein are accelerated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a cast slab having stable surface property without using powder, etc., by sticking ceramic to an inner wall face in a copper-made mold, varying the thickness step by step and starting the solidification of molten metal at a part lower than molten metal surface part. CONSTITUTION:The mold 1 for continuous casting is composed of the copper- made mold body 2 having good thermal conductivity and a cooling box 3 providing a cooling water piping 4, and the poured molten metal 5 is cooled, solidified and drawn to the arrow mark P direction. Then, in the inner wall face of the mold body 2, the ceramics 6a-6d are stuck so as to go to thinner step by step toward the casting direction P, and as the ceramic, BN, Si3N4, graphite, etc., are used. By this method, the poured molten metal 5 is slowly cooled and the solidification starts from solidified starting point at the part lower than the molten metal surface 8, and the solidified shell 7 having stable surface property without influencing any variation of the molten metal surface 8, is obtd.
