摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain excellent graininess and sharpness of the titled material and to improve sensitivity and to reduce contamination of the titled material by incorporating a specific coupler capable of releasing a reducing agent which can be scavenged an oxidant of the color developing agent by effecting a coupling reaction, to the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The titled material contains the coupler shown by formula I wherein A is a residual group of a coupler, R1 and R2 are each hydrogen atom, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl or aryl group, R1 and R2 together with each other may form a ring. However, R1 and R2 are not hydrogen atom simultaneously, (n) is 1 or 2, R3 is a group capable of substituting to a benzene ring, (m) is 0, 1 or 2. In case that (m) is 2, R3 may be the same or different with each other. And, R3 together with each other may form a ring. As the titled material contains the novel coupler capable of releasing the reducing agent which has a high ability of scavenging the oxidant of the color developing agent with a sufficient speed, the titled material having the excellent graininess and sharpness and high sensitivity and less contamination is obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having improved sensitivity, color development property and fastness, and capable of reducing generation of a yellow stain by incorporating a specific cyan coupler to at least one layer of a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The cyan coupler shown by formula I is incorporated to at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer provided on the substrate body. In formula I, Y is hydrogen atom or -COR5 (wherein R5 is 1-5C alkyl group), X is hydrogen atom, R1 and R2 are each hydrogen atom or 1-4C alkyl group, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen atom or 1-20C alkyl group, L is a bivalent binding group, Cp is a cyan coupler residual group, (l) is an integer of 0-4, (m) is 0 or 1, (n) is 0 or 1. Thus, the titled material having good sensitivity and color development property and excellent fastness of the cyan image against light and heat, and less tendency for generating yellow stain of the image is obtd.

It is not necessary for all the surfaces of the silver halide grains to be composed of the nn1 crystal faces, but the 111 faces, 110 faces, and 100 faces may exist. It is preferred for the nn1 faces to amount to >=30%, especially, >=70% of the total areas of the silver halide grains, and further, for the weight of the grains having the nn1 faces to amount to >=50wt%, especially, >=70wt% of the total weight of all the grains.
