    • PURPOSE:To improve image density and sharpness and to enable decrease in softening point by forming a magnetic material of iron or iron alloy of which the coercive force and the intensity of saturation magnetization have respectively specific values. CONSTITUTION:Pulverous powder of a magnetic material consisting of iron or iron alloy having the magnetic characteristic that the coercive force thereof is =150 /g is used. Such powder is dispersed together with a coloring material and other additives to be added according to need into a particulate material of a binder resin, thereby manufacturing a magnetic toner having an insulating characterisic. The electrical conductivity of such toner is made of 10 OMEGA/cm. Since the magnetic material has the specific magnetic characteristic as mentioned above, the visible image having high image density and high sharpness is formed with the large amt. of the toner to be stuck per unit area of the image part when the toner is used for development. The toner having a low softening point is obtainable and therefore the fixing of the toner image is adequately and satisfactorily accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To improve both a carrying property and a developing property by setting a rectangular ratio in a magnetization curve of a magnetic powder to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular ratio in a magnetization curve of a magnetic powder contained in a developer is set to a range of 0.01-0.30. In this state, it is preferable to mix and use plural kinds of magnetic powders whose rectangular ratio is different in a range of this rectangular ratio, and also it is preferable to mix and use said magnetic powder whose rectangular ratio is in a range of 0.01-0.10, and that which is in a range of 0.10-0.30. In case the rectangular ratio is large, the carrying property is good, and when the rectangular ratio is in a small range of 0.01-0.10, the developing property is good. Accordingly, as for the magnetic powder whose rectangular ratio is in a range of 0.01-0.30, both the developing property and the carrying property are good, a height of a tuft surface of a developing tuft is averaged, a contact rate to an image carrying surface of a soft developing tuft surface is raised, and an excellent picture is obtained.
