    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an adhesive for woodworking, excellent in film-forming property, workability and adhering strength without adding a plasticizer and used for adhering wood to wood.
      SOLUTION: In the method for producing the adhesive for woodworking and for adhering wood to wood, the adhesive comprises vinyl acetate emulsion containing no plasticizer. The method comprises a step for polymerization while adding ethylene, vinyl acetate and a catalyst to a reaction system comprising polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and vinyl acetate so as to obtain an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (EVA) emulsion of 0.6-1.8 μm average particle diameter and of 15-35 wt.% ethylene content, and a step for seed polymerization while adding a catalyst and vinyl acetate to a reaction system comprising the emulsion and PVA so as to obtain a vinyl acetate resin-based emulsion containing no plasticizer and having 15-40 wt.% EVA content based on the sum of vinyl acetate resin, EVA and PVA.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic emulsion having high cohesive power and giving a film having high tensile strength by drying and forming in the form of a film and provide an acrylic emulsion produced by the method.
      SOLUTION: The method for the production of an acrylic emulsion comprises the redox polymerization of ethylene and a monomer containing a (meth)acrylic acid ester in the presence of an emulsifying dispersion agent consisting of a polyvinyl alcohol or composed mainly of a polyvinyl alcohol, at least one kind of reducing agent selected from formamidinesulfinic acid, thiourea dioxide and their derivatives, and an oxidizing agent generating an alkoxy radical.
