摘要： PURPOSE:To form a coated layer without reducing transmission characteristics and strength, by drawing core glass consisting of fluoride glass and fiber consisting of clad glass, extruding a coating material and applying the material to the surface of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:Core glass 13 and clad glass 14 are melted in a crucible 12 arranged in a container 16 in an inert gas or a fluorine gas atmosphere by an electric furnace 22. The molten glass 13 and the molten glass 14 are fed through feed pipes 25 to double crucibles 27 and 28 having concentrically formed nozzles. Core glass 29 and clad glass 30 in the crucibles 27 and 28 are adjusted to drawing temperature by a heater 33 and drawn into fiber 40 by a capstan 10. Simultaneously, a coating material 32 in a container 31 with a nozzle concentrically set at the outer periphery of the double crucibles 27 and 28 is extruded by high-pressure gas and is stuck fast to the surface of the fiber 40. Consequently, a three layer structure of the core glass 29, the clad glass and the coating material 32 is formed at the same time to give a fluoride glass fiber with the coated layer.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a large-sized preform for fluoride glass fibers with excellent dimensional accuracy at a low cost, by transferring glass melt chemically treated with a fluorine based gas using carbon crucibles to metal crucibles for producing the preform. CONSTITUTION:A core glass 1 and clad glass 22 are respectively contained in carbon crucibles 3 and 4 in a hermetically sealed vessel 10 for melting glass and melted by a high-frequency coil 5. A fluorine based gas is then introduced from inlets 6 to chemically treat the glasses 1 and 2. A gate valve 17 is then opened to move the above-mentioned crucibles 3 and 4 into a connected hermetically sealed vessel 15 for producing a preform through crucible tongs 18 provided at a horizontal moving rod 19 and transfer the glass melts 1 and 2 to metal double crucibles 11 and 12 with a nozzle for producing a preform. The aimed preform for long fluoride glass fibers having a low loss is then taken out through a common jig 13 for preventing glass melt outflow and taking out glass.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a base material for a fluoride glass fiber having excellent quality by simultaneously drawing glass for a core and clad from the nozzles of concentrically disposed inside and outside crucibles by using a jig. CONSTITUTION:The inside and outside nozzles 1, 3 having nozzles are concentrically disposed onto the glass drawing out jig 6 in common use for preventing the outflow of a glass melt in a hermetic vessel 8. The glass 2, 4 for the clad and core are respectively packed into the crucibles and are melted by heating to a high temp. with a high-frequency coil 8. The impurities such as oxide and compd. ions are reactively removed by the gaseous fluorine introduced into the vessel through a gas introducing port 7. The glass is then cooled to about the low temp. at which the crystallization thereof does not arise to decrease the absorption loss by the transition metal. The glass is thereafter cooled to the temp. at which the drawable viscosity is shown. The above-mentioned jig is moved downward by a vertical moving bar 5 and the glass 4 for the core and the glass 2 for the clad are simultaneously drawn out of the above- mentioned nozzles under cooling and solidifying. The base material for the fluoride glass fiber which can decrease the fiber loss and absorption loss at a high yield is thus obtd.

摘要： PURPOSE:To dehydrate optical material contg. OH group without contg. impurities by arranging the optical material contg. OH group in the atmosphere of halogen atom isolated by glow discharge in the state wherein said material is subjected to high-frequency electric heating and substituting the halogen atom for the OH group. CONSTITUTION:When for example, gaseous fluorine is introduced in a reaction tube 3 from a gas introduction port 7 and glow discharge is caused from high frequency coils 8, plasma 9 contg. fluorine atom in nascent state is uniformly formed in the inside of the coil 8. On the other hand, the material 5 to be treated which is optical material is heated with the eddy current of high-frequency current flowing through coil 8 to give thermal energy necessary to a chemical reaction. Therefore, the fluorine atom isolated in the nascent state is substituted for the OH group of said material 5 and furthermore the OH group is allowed to react with fluorine atom to produce hydrogen halide and H2O molecule and these are discharged from an exhaust port 6. In this manner, the material is dehydrated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of malfunction by a simple circuit by clearing all receiving signals on the way of the operation of a timer if the reception of a control signal is not completed during the operation of the timer. CONSTITUTION:Control codes from a filter 5 are successively stored in a register 18 through a monostable multivibrator 10. Outputs from both the end bits of the register 18 are applied to an AND gate 13. On the other hand, a control code from the filter 5 is inputted to a timer 14 and a pulse having a transmission time longer than that of the control code is outputted from the outputs Q, Q' of the timer 14. When the output Q' of the timer 14 is off, an AND gate 17 does not supply the output of the gate 13 to a decoder 19. Consequently, the decoder 19 is prevented from malfunction in the receiving process. If the output of the gate 13 is turned on when the output Q of the timer 14 is turned off, a control circuit 15 clears the contents of the register 18. If the reception of the control signal is not completed during the operation of the timer 14, all receiving signals on the way of the operation of the timer 14 are cleared.
