    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regenerate an adsorbent whose adsorptive capability has been lowered due to adsorption of a substance to be adsorbed through avoiding the damage of the adsorbent at a high temperature. SOLUTION: In an adsorbent regeneration apparatus 1, two adsorption towers 2, 3 are reciprocally connected to an adsorption line 4 or an extraction line 5. Heavy oil fractions contained in the LPG flowing in the adsorption line 4 are adsorbed by an adsorbent in one adsorption tower 2 and the heavy oil fractions adsorbed in an adsorbent in the other adsorption tower 3 are made to quickly flow out to a fluid in a supercritical state to regenerate the adsorbent. In the fluid in the supercritical state, though the diffusion speed about 100 times as high as that of a liquid can be obtained, the temperature is not increased to such a high value as to deteriorate the adsorbent. Propane and butane, which are components of LPG, may be employed as the fluid to get into the supercritical state. The supercritical fluid is turned back to be at a normal pressure by decreasing the pressure by a pressure decrease valve 6 and the heavy oil fractions are separated in a separation tank 7 and then the resultant fluid is made to be a supercritical fluid again by heating and increasing the pressure by a heater 8 and a compressor 9 to be used for regeneration.
