    • PURPOSE:To improve the yield of liquefied oil by spraying a concentrated insoluble matter slurry obtained from a distillation residue into a high-velocity fluidized bed of heated porous particles to evaporate the solvent in the slurry. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of pulverized and dewatered raw coal, a catalyst, and a solvent is primarily hydrogenated and then distilled to separate into naphtha, a medium-gravity oil, and a distillation residue. A dewashing solvent is added to the distillation residue to dissolve and extract the heavy liquefied material in the residue. The mixture is then transferred to a settling tank, where undissolved matter is allowed to settle, thus separating into a concentrated insoluble matter slurry and a supernatant liquid. The slurry is introduced into a raw material tank 1. On the other hand, N2 gas is introduced through a booster blower 2 and a preheater 8 into porous particles comprising amorphous alumina or zeolite having a particle diameter of 100-300mum in a high-velocity fluidized bed 3 to heat the particles to 300-650 deg.C, and the slurry is sprayed through a pressure reducing valve 9 into the fluidized bed 3 to evaporate the solvent in the slurry and separate the heavy liquefied material. The porous particles are recovered in a cyclone 4, the evaporated material is passed through a condenser 5 and collected in a receiver 6, and the particles having adherent evaporation residues are drawn out of the system through the bottom 7 of the fluidized bed.
