    • PURPOSE:To enable accurate perforation by forming a sub-groove in such a way that a secondary cutting edge is positioned on the thick-wall part side of a drill from a straight line connecting the sub-groove side end of a main cutting edge and the end of outer periphery on the sub-groove side of a chisel edge. CONSTITUTION:A sub-groove 4 is formed in such a way that a ridge line which is the edge of a secondary cutting edge 1b is positioned on the thick-wall part 6 side of a drill 10 from a straight line connecting the points on each cutting edge line of the sub-groove side end of a main cutting edge 1a and the opposite sub-groove side end of a chisel edge 3. Thereupon, the drill 10 having thus formed end parts will have a fairly shorter chisel edge 3 than the chisel edge of a drill having no sub-groove 4, improving the biting property into a workpiece while making it hard to cause a walking phenomenon. Accordingly, the rotation center of the drill 10 can be effectively prevented from moving, reducing cutting resistance while improving a cutting property to carry out accurate perforation.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent chips from being scattered by forming a main cutting blade in such a manner that it is curved into a concave shape in the direction of rotation, and then making the angle between the main cutting blade and a minor cutting blade to be not less than 100 deg., and further setting the distance from the shaft center of a drill to the point of intersection between the main cutting blade and the minor cutting blade to be not more than 0.2 times as large as the diameter of the drill. CONSTITUTION:Since a main cutting blade 3m is formed in such a manner that it is curved into a concave shape in the direction of rotation, and then, chips are also curved and their stiffness is increased, the chips are caused to flow along the cutting face for a long time. The angle theta between the main cutting blade 3m and a minor cutting blade 3s is set at not less than 100 deg.. Accordingly, the chips emitting from the main cutting blade 3m and the minor cutting blade 3s are connected with each other, and drew in the minor cutting-blade groove 1s side, and then, together with the chips emitting from the minor cutting blade 3s, they collide with the inner periphery surface of the minor groove 1s and are crushed finely. In addition, the distance between the point of intersection P1 between the main cutting blade 3m and the minor cutting blade 3s and the shaft center of a drill is made not less than 0.2 times as large as the diameter D of the drill so that the stiffness of the drill can be maintained. Thereby, the cutting speed can be increased, and the safety can also be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To perform accurate boring and finish machining by forming a U-shaped recessed auxiliary groove on the center side of the heel face of the blade section of a drill section in a reamer having the drill section at the tip section of a reamer section. CONSTITUTION:Chip discharging main groove 6 is spirally formed along the axial direction of a drill section 1a, and a blade rear face 4 and a heel face 5 are provided on each main groove 6 respectively. The blade rear face 4 is protruded into the main groove 6 as compared with a standard drill 3 to form a thick protruded section 4c. That is, the outside 4a is protruded like a conventional high-rigidity drill 2, on the other hand, the center side 4b is recessed to reduce its thickness. In addition, the heel face 5 is protruded into the main groove 6 at the outside section 5b, and a U-shaped recessed auxiliary groove 8 is spirally formed along the axial direction from the outside end section 5b to the center side. Accordingly, the heel face 5 is made thick at the outside end section 5b and thin at the center side. The auxiliary groove 8 is formed in a fixed range from the tip of the drill section.
