    • PURPOSE:To prevent central segregaion of a continuous casting billet at the joint part and to improve the yield thereof by providing respectively electromagnetic stirrers near the water-cooled casting mold of a continuous casting device, the terminal part of solidification of the drawn billet and between said parts and operating the stirrers in accordance with a schedule. CONSTITUTION:A billet is drawn while all of the 1st-3rd electromagnetic stirrers 2a, 2b, 2c are operated during the time when the joint part of different kinds of steels moves by the length corresponding to the distance L (b-c) from the molten metal surface in a casting mold 1 to the 2nd stirrer 2b and to the 3rd stirrer 2c. The billet is drawn by stopping the 3rd stirrer 2c and operating the 1st and 2nd stirrers 2a, 2b during the time when the joint part of the different kinds of steels drawn by the length corresponding to the distance L (b-c) arrives at the 2nd stirrer 2b. The billet is drawn by operating only the 1st stirrer 2a during the time when said joint part moves to the 2nd-3rd stirrers 2b, 2c. The billet is drawn under stirring by the stirrers 2c, 2a after the joint part arrives at the stirrer 2c.

    • PURPOSE:To promote the dispersion of disiliconizing agent into hot metal by the gravity energy at difference parts in level and to raise the desiliconizing oxygen efficiency, by providing not less than 2 difference parts in level on the downstream side of the position of pig-iron runner for injection of desiliconizing agent in carrying out the pig-iron runner desiliconization on the casting bed of blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:Not less than 2 difference parts in level are provided on the downstream side of the position A of pig-iron runner for injection of desiliconizing agent in carrying out the pig-iron runner desiliconization on the casting bed of blast furnace. For example, the head of drop weir 7 is lessened and at the same time the second drop weir 7a and the third drop weir 7b are further provided on its downstream side. In that case, because allowable head is limitted, their total head is the same as before. Thus, the mixing of hot metal and desiliconizing agent are promoted and the desiliconizing oxygen efficiency is raised.
