摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a upward arc welding method by using a selfshield wire where a sound weld part is obtained with a high efficiency. CONSTITUTION:In a vertical upward arc welding where a self-shield wire, a non-consumable nozzle and straps on both side of the groove are used, a water- cooled copper strap having a recessed part to remove slag is used at least as one of the straps. The self-shield wire where the flux composed of, by wire total wt.%, 2.5-6% potassium silicofluoride, 0.5-5% alkaline earth metal carbonate (where, the ratio of potassium/alkaline earth metal carbonate: 1-10), 10-20% iron powder containing 0.01-0.30% C (by iron powder total wt.%), 0.01-0.15% C, 0.5-3.0% Mn, and 0.05-1.0% Si is packed into the carbon steel outer skin is used.
