    • PURPOSE:To obtain a differential pressure device which extremely facilitates opening between a treating vessel and the differential pressure device and further between the respective differential pressure chambers and improves exchange workability of the differential pressure chambers and restoring workability at the time of rupture by providing the device with an attachable and detachable connecting part. CONSTITUTION:The differential pressure device 3 is composed of a differential pressure group of the differential pressure chambers 3a, 3b, 3c on the upstream side of the vacuum treating chamber for vacuum treatment of a strip 1. Sealing rolls 4 which prohibit movement of the atm. or gases to the adjacent chambers are installed in all of the differential pressure chambers 3a, 3b, 3c. The connecting part 5 between the vacuum treating vessel 2 and the differential pressure device 3 exists. A vacuum discharge pipe 6 is connected to a vacuum pump. The connecting pat 5 is easily attached and detached to and from the vacuum treating vessel 2 by a flange joint mechanism. Between the respective differential pressure chambers and between the differential pressure chambers 3a to c and the vacuum discharge pipe 6 are also easily attachable and detachable to and from each other by the flange joint mechanisms. As a result, the differential pressure device is cable of releasing between the treating vessel and the differential pressure device and further between the respective differential pressure chambers at need.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a running band-shaped plate from being scratched and, at the same time, to eliminate the influence of disturbance caused by the vibration of the plate by providing caster pairs very closely to the sides of non- contact sensors which scan the plate while the sensors move on the plate forward and backward along the width direction of the plate. CONSTITUTION:Caster pairs 12a-12e and 12a'-12e' are respectively arranged so that they can surround liquid-column ultrasonic sensors 10a-10d and 10a'-10d' and hold a silicon steel plate 14 in between. Therefore, the vibration of the steel plate 14 is suppressed near the sensors and the plate 14 can be stably maintained at a fixed level. Ultrasonic waves 20 transmitted from an ultrasonic wave generator 16a are passed through the steel plate 14 and the damped waves are finally received by an ultrasonic wave receiver 18a which converts the waves into electric signals. Since the electric signals, namely, the output signal of the receiver 18a is made to correspond to the crystal orientation of the steel plate 14, the crystal orientation of the steel plate 14 can be found when the electric signals are processed at a signal processing section.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a shape failure of a band plate during running to be measured accurately by positioning non-contact distance meters at both edges of an array in band direction according to position detection in width direction of both edges of the band plate. CONSTITUTION:A band plate 1 to be measured runs in a direction which crosses at a section with the left and right being edges 1a and a plurality of non-contact distance meters 5 are placed in the width direction. The distance meter 5 is divided into both edges and a central part and the distance meter 5 of the edge part group and a video camera 12a are housed at the upper part of the band plate 1 as an edge part measuring instrument 10. An output of this distance meter 5 is input to an operation device A along with an output of the camera 12a through a filter 22 and a peak/hold circuit 24. Thus, while a position of the edge 1a is detected by the camera 12a, the measuring instrument 10 is moved so that the edge la is located at a fixed position within a visual field of the camera 12a for positioning control by a servo control device 14s according to a command of the device A based on it for coping with change in shape.
