    • PURPOSE:To efficiently replace air to non-oxidized atmosphere and to improve working ratio of a continuous casting machine by inserting a reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe into near bottom face of a tundish from an opening hole for gas burner and softly blowing argon gas to the horizontal direction from the tip part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe 3 connected and supported with a gas supplying pipe 11 through combustible material of a paper- made connecting cylinder 9 from the opening hole 6 for burner in a tundish cover 2 is inserted into near the bottom face of tundish body 1, and gap between the opening hole 6 for burner and the gas supplying pipe 3 is sealed with a sealing material 13. The Ar gas is supplied from the gas supplying pipe 11 and at the time of softly blowing the Ar gas to the horizontal direction from the tip part of reverse T shaped gas blowing pipe 3, the Ar gas having sp. gr. larger than that of the air, is spread to lower space of the tundish body 1 and stayed. Therefore, the Ar gas efficiently replaces the air into the non- oxidized atmospheric condition with piston model, which the air having small sp. gr. is gradually pushed out to the upper space in the tundish body 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively eliminate the unevenness of erosion of a refractory in the state of scarcely needing the investment of an equipment and to prolong the service life of furnace body in a converter by disposing plural oxygen spouting holes asymmetrically to the center axis of a lance and displacing the lance by a prescribed angle around the center axis according to the erosion of the lining refractory in the converter. SOLUTION: In the converter 1 covering the outermost shell with an iron shell 8 and lining the lining refractory 7 in the converter at the inside of the iron shell, oxygen is blown as gaseous oxygen jet 6 from a top-blown lance 5 and molten steel 3 and molten slag 4 are vigorously stirred to execute the active combustion action of carbon. At this time, since the lining refractory 7 is unevenly eroded by the high temp. generated with the combustion of the carbon and the erosion with the molten slag 4, the oxygen spouting holes 5a arranged at the tip part of the lance 5 are asymmetrically disposed. Then, the lance 5 is displaced by rotating so as to direct the direction where the oxygen jet intensity of the lance 5 is weak to the position having large erosion in the furnace based on the information in the furnace, and during blowing, the lance 5 is fixed.
