CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic unit 19 determines bending roll reaction F2 from plate width (b) and total reaction F2' of bending roll. An arithmetic unit 20 determines pinch roll reaction F3 from plate thickness (b) and total reaction F3' of pinch roll. An arithmetic unit 22 determines coiling tension T3 from plate width (b) and total coiling tension T3'. An arithmetic unit 23 determines tensile stress SIGMAt of rolled stock from plate thickness (t) and coiling tension F3. An arithmetic unit 24 determines index alpha from bending roll reaction F2, pinch roll reaction F3 and tensile stress SIGMAt of rolled stock. An arithmetic unit 25 outputs a bending roll operation signal S to a comparison arithmetic unit 26 from the index of the arithmetic unit 18 and said index alpha. When present draft position exceeds controlled position, the comparison arithmetic unit 26 sends a processed signal of the operation signal S to a rolling driving device 14 to control the bending roll 10.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a coil of a rolled material free from edge unevenness and slack, by setting a rolling reduction of a roll in accordance with the rigidity and thickness of a rolled material, and making a coil-shape evaluation index to a specified value, in rolling reduction of the material with a bending roll, and coiling. CONSTITUTION:At the inlet side of pinch rolls 7 and 8, a rolled material 1 is subjected to rolling reduction downward by a bending roll 10 and then is coiled. At that time, a reaction F2 of the bending roll 10, a reaction F3 of the pinch rolls 7 and 8, and a coiling tension T3, respectively per unit width of the material 1, and the sheet thickness (t) are measured. Next, rolling reduction of the bending roll 10 is set in accordance with the rigidity and thickness of the material 1. Then a coil-shape evaluation index alpha=(F2+F3).deltat (where deltat=T3/t), representing comprehensively a retarding effect for a moving in the direction of sheet width and an effect of coiling tension, is made to be a specified value.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a coil free from irregularity of edge and slackness by changing setting of rolling reduction in accordance with change of rigidity of material to be rolled and diameter of coil and maintaining the coil form evaluation index at a fixed value in coiling a material to be rolled by subjecting it to rolling reduction with a bending roll. CONSTITUTION:In the entrance side of pinch rolls 7, 8, a material to be rolled 1 is subjected to downward rolling reduction by a bending roll 10 and coiled. At this time, reaction force of bending roll per unit width of material to be rolled F2, pinch roll reaction coiling tension T3 and plate thickness (t) are measured. Then, setting of rolling reduction of the bending roll is changed in accordance with the rigidity of the material to be rolled and chage of diameter of the coil 6 during coiling. Coil form evaluation index alpha=(F2+F3).deltat (where deltat=T3/t) that indicate moving suppressing effect in the direction of width and coiling effect collectively is made constant.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of inward squeezing of a rolling mill, by opening a side guide of a rolling stand of the following stage simultaneously after a rolling material passes through a stand of the preceding stage in rolling a steel plate by a hot tandem mill. CONSTITUTION:Rolling load of, for instance, the 3rd stand is detected by a load cell 6 to transmit the detected output to a side-guide controlling device 7, in hot rolling a steel plate 1 by a multistand tandem mill. A side-guide driving device 5 of a rolling stand placed at the two stages of stands ahead is controlled to open a side guide 4 actuated by a detecting output, which is generated by detecting a sudden change of rolling load caused by passing of the tail end of the material 1 through the 3rd stand, in a controlling device 7. Next, the load cell 6 and the device 7 are arranged respectively at the next stand, in the same manner, to detect the passing through of the tail end of the material 1, and the side guide placed at the two stages of stands ahead from said stand is opened to prevent the generation of inward squeezing.
