    • PURPOSE:To minimize the oxide film formed at the time of decarburizing annealing and to provide superior magnetic properties by removing the oxide film after process annealing, lowering the dew point in the rear part of a soaking zone in a decarburizing annealing furnace, and also regulating the atmosphere in the above-mentioned rear part to a weak-oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled plate of silicon steel having a composition containing, by weight, 0.02-0.1% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.01-0.10% Mn, and 0.005-0.06%, in total, of one or more elements among S, Se, and Al is subjected to two-time or more cold rollings and process annealing, and is formed to the final sheet thickness. Cold rolling is done after the removal of the oxide scale formed at the steel sheet surface in the above-mentioned process annealing stage. Subsequently, at the time of decarburizing annealing, the atmosphere is regulated to strong-oxidizing atmosphere in the fore half alone and to weak-oxidizing atmosphere in the back half, by which the formation of the oxide film is minimized. A difference in average dew point between the front part and the rear part of the soaking zone in the furnace at the time of decarburizing annealing is regulated to >=10 deg.C, preferably to >=30 deg.C.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a torpedo ladle car which has a throat for receiving and delivering a molten iron in the upper part of a freely tiltable furnace body for contg. the molten iron on front and rear carriages movable on rails and which permits efficient primary refining by providing a nozzle for blowing a refining flux to said furnace body. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 4 is separated to the front and rear carriages and the furnace body 6A is freely tiltably supported on the carriages 4 by means of the revolving shafts 8 provided on the front and rear thereof and a tilting device 10 provided to either of the carriages. The body 6A has the throat 16 in the upper part at one end thereof and is provided with the nozzle 21 for blowing the refining flux for the molten iron 18 in the upper part at the other end. The furnace body receives the molten iron in this state through the throat 16. Tiltable moving rails 22 are provided in the rails 2 from, for example, the blast furnace toward a steel making plant and a flux storage and blowing device is provided near the same. The torpedo ladle car is locked by a fixing device 24. The torpedo ladle car is then tilted as shown in the figure and the primary refining is executed.
