    • PURPOSE:To prevent the collision of the tip of a steel strip against straightening rolls from occuring by passing strip through a pay-off leveler after attracting the steel strip with a magnetic attracting device which is attached at the tip of an expansion cylinder. CONSTITUTION:The steel strip 2 is attracted with the magnetic attracting device 8 and the tip of the steel strip 2 is moved to the outlet side of the pay-off leveler 5 by extending the expansion cylinder 9. By cutting off electricity to the magnetic attracting device 8 and contracting the expansion cylinder 9, the magnetic attracting device 8 is pulled out outside the pay-off leveler 5. The steel strip 2 is reduced with the pay-off leveler 5, a pay-off reel 4 and pay-off leveler 5 are reversed and tip straightening is executed in the form of returning the steel strip 2 which reaches the outlet side of the pay-off leveler 5. After straightening the tip part of the steel strip 2, the pay-off leveler 5 is released and the strip is passed through.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent speed reduction of the pre-processing section and prevent stopping of the intermediate processing section as long as possible by providing a speed criteria switching means where three speed criteria are added to the respective corresponding sections when the post-processing section is operated at a reduced speed or stopped. CONSTITUTION:A speed criteria circuits 41,43 generate the speed criteria for the pre-processing section and the post-processing section respectively. A speed criteria circuit 73 calculates and outputs the speed criteria of the intermediate processing section where two loopers reach the longer end at the same time on the basis of these speed criteria. A speed criteria switching means achieves ON/OFF operation of contacts 44, 46, 48 and adds the speed criteria of the speed criteria circuit 41 to the intermediate processing and the post-processing sections respectively during the normal operation, adds the speed criteria of the speed criteria circuit 41 to the pre-processing section when the post- processing section is operated at a reduced speed or stopped, adds the output of the speed criteria generating means 73 to the intermediate processing section, and adds the speed criteria of the speed criteria circuit 43 to the post-processing section respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent secondary rupture from being generated with the movement of a steel strip by using a roll provided with a disk brake to a fixed roll and actuating the disk brake according to the passing speed of the steel strip to decelerate and stop the fixed roll. CONSTITUTION:The fixed roll 5A provided with a disk brake is used for a fixed roll in a looper 2. A hydraulic pressure supply tube 19 is connected with the disk brake and a regulating valve 20 is closed and opened by a command from a main controller 10 to decelerate and stop the fixed roll 5A. A speed detector 21 is mounted on the shift of the fixed roll 5A and a signal for a detected actual speed of the fixed roll 5A is inputted into the main shaft controller 10. When the actual speed exceeds the reference speed, the disk brake is actuated to give a deceleration torque to the fixed roll 5A and the fixed roll 5A nearly synchronizes the passing speed of the line, decelerates and stops and the overrun of the fixed roll 5A is hindered.

    • PURPOSE:To nicely hold the shape of a coil to be coiled up by finding the GD of the coil from a coil length coiled by a tension reel, determining a decelerating rate according to this GD and decelerating and stopping the reel according to the decelerating rate when the sheet is ruptured. CONSTITUTION:Since a steel strip begins to be coiled round a tension reel, the number of revolution is detected by a number of revolution indicator 14 and the number of revolution signal is inputted into a coil length measuring circuit 66 to measure the coil length. The signal for the coil length is inputted into a GD arithmetic circuit 67 to operate the coil diameter of the steel strip cooled round the tension reel. Then, the GD in the coil diameter is operated. The decelerating rate possible to stop the coil without deforming it based on the found GD of the coil is selected from a characteristic curve given in advance. When a rupture signal for the sheet is sent from a rupture detecting circuit 61, the decelerating rate is outputted to a speed controller 65 of the tension reel to decelerate and stop the tension reel.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent trouble of overheat and power source trip or the like by enabling a limit value of current, supplied to an electric motor, to be set to a value different in the time of fixed speed operation and in the time of acceleration and deceleration operation and preventing the electric motor from carrying its overcurrent. CONSTITUTION:In a current limiter arithmetic circuit 30, first a speed command V0 is time-differentiated (dV0/dt), when a calculated differential value is equal to zero, because an electric motor 10 is judged to be in fixed speed operation rotating at a fixed speed, a command of setting a current limit value to 100% the rating of the electric motor 10 is output to a current limiter 28. On the contrary, when the calculated differential value is judged to be not equal to zero, because the electric motor 10 is judged to be in acceleration and deceleration operation, a command of setting the current limit value to 200% the before said rotating is output to the current limiter 28. By the method, the electric motor 10 can be prevented from showing its trouble of burning and power source trip or the like due to a continued overcurrent while enabling a sufficient torque to be obtained of acceleration and deceleration.
