    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and rapidly assemble a branched shield machine by reducing the number of split parts of the branched shield machine for excavating a branched tunnel.
      SOLUTION: A cylindrical body 4 for the start of the branched shield machine is used at the start of a first front barrel part 21 which excavates the branched tunnel from inside an existing tunnel 1. The cylindrical body 4 is mounted on an inner wall surface of the existing tunnel 1 which serves as an entrance of the branched tunnel, so as to allow the branched shield machine to be started from inside. The cylindrical body 4 is equipped with a cylindrical outer peripheral entrance 40 and an inner peripheral entrance 41 which is continuously arranged at the other end of an outer cylinder part. An inner peripheral surface of the peripheral entrance 41 is provided with a tube seal 6 which allows cut-off between the inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface of the barrel part 21 which passes through a hollow part. In addition, the entrance 41 is provided so as to be axially slidable in the entrance 40.

A leading cylindrical material 4a is fixed to the inner wall surface of the existing tunnel 1, and a rear-end cylindrical material 4b is removably coupled to the cylindrical body 4a, and located in the rear of an excavating part 212 at the tip of the shield machine 21 when the excavating part 212 is arranged in a hollow part of the cylindrical material 4a. The cylindrical materials 4a and 4b are provided with tube seals 6 which allow cut-off between inner peripheral surfaces of the cylindrical materials 4a and 4b and the shield machine 21.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a shaft for assembly, and to reduce the cost of tunnelling by disposing a plurality of shield jacks on the inside of an intermediate drum and shortening the length of a shield machine. SOLUTION: When a plurality of shield jacks 13 are arranged into the internal drum 21 of an intermediate drum 3, the length of a main-line shield excavator 1 is lengthened, and only the front section of the intermediate drum 3 is formed in the triple structure of the internal drum 21, an external-drum internal cylinder section 25 and a front-drum tail section 23. Since the rear section of the intermediate drum 3 is formed in the double structure of the internal drum 21 and an external-drum main body 24, the structure of the intermediate drum 3 is simplified. Since a branch shield excavator reaches a branch point and is carried in, a space in the intermediate drum 3 can be ensured largely, an earth removing device 10 discharging excavated materials can also be installed, and shield excavation is carried out in both a main-line tunnel and a branch tunnel. Since the length of the main-line shield excavator 1 is shortened, the main-line shield excavator 1 can be charged and a shaft for assembly miniaturized.
