    • PURPOSE:To enable easy manufacture of a double-ply tube of strong fitting, by filling and passing pressurized cooling water in metallic inner tube, closely winding a heated steel band on the outer peripheral face, and welding its both edges. CONSTITUTION:An inner tube 2 made of stainless steel is set with swivel joints 4, 4'. Cooling water is pressed into at high pressure by tubes 7, 9 to cool the inner tube and maintain circular section by internal pressure. While rotating the inner tube 2 by a motor 5, a band 13 of carbon steel heated by a high- frequency heating device 15 is wound. In this case, an end of the steel band 13 is fixed to the end of the surface of inner tube 2 with a clamp, and joined end 16 of the band steel 13 wound by rotation of the inner tube 2 is welded by the welding gun 11 of a TIG welding machine 10. After winding the steel band 13 to the end and welding, the steel band is cut and rotation of the inner tube 2 and cooling are stopped. A double-ply tube of strong fitting due to themal expansion of the inner tube 2 by steel band 13 and contraction by cooling of outer tube 1' made of steel band.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a tracking mechanism for a light emitting and receiving element by providing plural groups of pits which are formed at intervals in the circumferential direction of an optical disk radially at intervals, and projecting laser light and detecting its reflected light. CONSTITUTION:Plural pits P1 are provided at specific intervals in a track T1 in the circumferential direction of an optical disk 3 which is fitted to a rotary body and rotates together with the rotary body. The length of each pit P1 is theta1' in terms of a center angle and the intervals are theta2 in terms of the center angle. Tracks T2-Tm inside the track T1 are provided with pits P2-Pm at the same center angle theta1 and theta2 with the pit P1 and at specific radial intervals. The pits P1-Pm are formed radially at intervals d2, so even if the spot 12 of the laser light shifts radially, at least one of the pits P1-Pm can be detected as long as the spot 12 is in an area 6. Consequently, the tracking servomechanism is not necessary.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the absolute position of an optical disk at the time of the recovery from a power failure without any angle variation by providing the optical disk with a 1st pit which function as an incremental encoder and plural 2nd pits whose absolute positions are coded radially. CONSTITUTION:The optical disk 3 which is fitted to a rotary body and rotates together with the rotary body is provided with the plural its 7 on a track 6 at equal intervals l1 to equal length l2 and width 1d. Pits 11-14 which differ in length and interval are formed on tracks 15-18 inside the track 6. The diameter d2 of the spot 8 of laser light is smaller than the lengths l1 and l2. When the optical disk stops rotating temporarily owing to a power failure and is restrarted, a tracking servomechanism moves the spot 8 radially. For example, the spot moves in the direction of, for example, a diameter 35, the absolute value is found as '1011'. Consequently, the disk is easily and accurately restarted after the power failure.
