    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classification apparatus capable of removing a metal component from a raw material containing the metal component and also containing a residual component to which the metal component is bonded, a classification method using it, grinding equipment capable of removing the metal component in the front stage of a grinding device and a grinding method using it. SOLUTION: The classifier 1 of the front stage of a mill is constituted so that a hollow container 2 is partitioned by a partition member 3 having through-holes 13 and the granulated slag of a blast furnace is charged in an upper space 10 while classification air is supplied to a lower space 11. The granulated slag of the blast furnace is blown up from below by the classification air while iron particles are stagnated on the partition member 3 to be discharged from a stagnated component discharge pipe 20 and pure slag is blown upward to be discharged from a blown-up component discharge pipe 22. In addition, the retainer 40 is fixed to the liner guide 34 by welding so that the retainer 40 may be engaged with the adjusting plate 36 and may receive the peripheral force applied to the liner 20 through the adjusting plate 36. Moreover, the axial force applied to the tire retaining ring 26 is transmitted to the liner 20 through the adjusting plate 36 and received by the liner guide 34 through the liner retainer 40.
