    • PURPOSE:To reduce the increase of data despite a complicated object shape and to process an image simply and at a high speed by handling the contour lines as the chain codes, i.e., a 1-dimensional data train when the characteristic parameters of the area, the centroid, etc., showing the characteristics of the object shape are calculated through the image processing. CONSTITUTION:The binary images obtained by photographing an object are stored in an image memory 1 for each picture element, and a processing circuit 2 consisting of a microcomputer, etc., computes the contents stored in the memory 1 to calculate the characteristic parameters. In this case, the contour lines are first tracked for calculation of the basic characteristic parameters, i.e., the moment, area, centroid, attitude angle, and circumscribed rectangle respectively. Then both furthest and nearest points are detected and the directions set from the centroids of both points are calculated. Then the derivative characteristic parameters, i.e., the moment ratio, the area rate, the aspect ratio, etc., are calculated. Furthermore the total area, the total circumferential length, etc., are calculated. A binary image to be stored in the memory 1 consists of the picture elements of logic '0' and '1'.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent false detection by a method wherein an image of a numbered contour line is prepared beforehand for each object of measurement and only the coordinates of the intersection of the contour line having the same number with that of the object in detection are determined when intersections of the contour line and segments drawn on the image of the contour line are determined. CONSTITUTION:An input image information from an ITV camera 100 is converted into a binary-code information in a binary-coding circuit 101 and stored in a data memory 103. By using the binary-coded image stored in this memory 103, the input image information is processed in a processing device 102. Consequently, the binary- coded image is raster-scanned to detect a point of change from a black pixel to a white pixel, or vice versa, and thereby an image of a contour line is obtained. Next, on the image of the contour line, a segment of a prescribed length is drawn at every prescribed angle around the center of gravity of an object to be measured. When this segment intersects the contour line, only the coordinates of the intersection of the contour line having the number of the object to be measured are determined and a distance between the intersections thus determined is calculated. In this way, measured data on each object are obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To omit the line and the electric power source to supply the electric power by increasing and decreasing the external magnetic field, winding the detecting coil to a ferromagnetic substance in which the strength of magnetization is rapidly changed, and transmitting the output of the detecting coil through a photo coupler as an electric current change. CONSTITUTION:A detecting head 5 includes a ferromagnetic substance 6 in which the internal magnetic speed is rapidly changed by increasing and decreasing the external magnetic field, a detecting coil 7 wound at the ferromagnetic substance 6 and a permanent magnet for the resetting. The magnetization direction of the permanent magnet 8 is reverse in the magnetization direction of the permanent magnet 3, and the upper part is magnetized to the S pole and the lower part is magnetized to the N pole, and the permanent magnet 3 has a stronger magnetizing force than the permanent magnet 8. By rotating a rotating member 2, at an external magnetic field applied to the ferromagnetic substance 6, the jumping with the large internal magnetic flux density of the ferromagnetic substance 6 is generated by the influence of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 3 and the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 8, and at the detecting coil 7, the comparatively high impulse-shaped electrostatic voltage is generated. To both edges of the detecting coil 7, a resistance R1 for limit the electric current and a light emitting diode D, which are the serial circuit, are connected.
