    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezo-/pyro-electric element of a polymer substance, having a high piezo-electricity and stiffness, and further, the piezo-/pyro-electric element of an inexpensive polymer substance excellent in environmental proof property and heat resistance.
      SOLUTION: This piezo-/pyro-electric element 1 consists of a polymer substance containing a multiple number of independent air bubbles 2 and polarization-treated while being irradiated by ultraviolet light. Thereby, since the ultraviolet light assists the discharges in the independent air bubbles, and many electric charges generated by the discharge charge the inner walls of the independent air bubbles, it is possible to raise the piezo-electricity of the element. Also, since the air bubbles presenting by the multiple number in the element are all independent, they are hardly collapsible even on applying a compression stress, and it is possible to improve the stiffness of the element.
