      SOLUTION: The method for producing the surface treated metal sheet having the excellent surface appearance is provided by which a pair of the dam rolls are arranged opposite to each other on both the surface sides of the metal sheet at the inlet side and/or outlet side of the surface treatment apparatus where the treatment liquid is stuck to the surface of the metal sheet and treatment is performed thereto and the leakage of the treatment liquid from the surface treatment apparatus is prevented by the dam rolls, wherein the spacing between a pair of the dam rolls is set so that the spacing is higher than the sheet thickness of the metal sheet and the spacing enables the leakage of the liquid to be prevented.
