    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing a large-area porous polyimide membrane [three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) polyimide membrane] having three-dimensionally ordered open fine cells in good reproducibility by using a present polyimide film-producing installation or the like.SOLUTION: The method for producing the porous polyimide membrane includes a step for producing varnish by mixing a polyamic acid or a polyimide, silica particles and a solvent, or producing a varnish by polymerizing the polyamic acid or the polyimide in the solvent in which the silica particles are dispersed, a step for producing a polyimide-silica composite membrane by finishing the imidation after forming the membrane of the varnish produced in the foregoing step on a base plate, and a step for removing the silica in the polyimide-silica composite membrane produced in the foregoing step, wherein, particles having 1.0-1.1 of sphericity, ≤1.5 of a particle diameter distribution index (d/d) and 100-2,000 nm of an average diameter are used as the silica particles, and the mass ratio of the silica/polyimide in the polyimide-silica composite membrane is 2-6.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a porous polyimide includes a porous silica mold production step for filling silica particles and sintering to give porous silica mold, a polyimide filling step for filling a polyimide to voids of the porous silica mold obtained by the porous silica mold production step and a silica removal step for removing silica from the polyimide filled porous silica mold to give a porous polyimide.
