    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automobile continuously variable transmission, capable of reducing overshooting of a gear ratio, even when increasing the shifting speed during gear-ratio shifting.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automobile continuously variable transmission, capable of preventing slippage of a belt by increasing actual secondary pressure even when increasing a shifting speed at shifting. SOLUTION: The control device comprises a secondary pressure control valve 24 for controlling the thrust of both pulleys 2, 3 on the belt 4, an orifice mounted in an oil path between the secondary pulley 3 and the secondary pressure control valve 24, a hydraulic pressure sensor 15 provided on the side of the secondary pressure control valve 24 beyond the orifice, a target secondary pressure setting means 12c, and a control means 12 for feedback-controlling the secondary pressure control valve, based on the target secondary pressure and the actual secondary pressure. The control means 12 has an operation change-over part P1 for performing shifting operation at a higher speed than normally. The target secondary pressure setting means 12c corrects the target secondary pressure to be increased, when correcting conditions including the change-over of the shifting operation to be performed at a higher speed are established.
