    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can stably produce an inkjet recording material which can express meticulous images even at a high printing speed, and more specifically a method of producing an inkjet recording material which uses, as a binder, a PVA-based resin composition exhibiting high binder force even when small amount of the composition is added and having high water resistance, enables high viscosity of a binder water solution when mixing with porous inorganic particulates, does not use water-soluble basic compounds having hazardous properties or having possibilities of adverse effects on other additive medical agents and reduces change in the viscosity of application fluid after mixed.SOLUTION: The method of producing the inkjet recording material includes the steps of: mixing a water solution of a saponified substance of vinyl acetate-diacetone acrylamide copolymer with a crosslinking agent; adding a volatile ketone compound after passage of at least thirty minutes after the mixing to obtain mixture; and applying an ink receiving layer application fluid obtained by mixing the porous inorganic particulates with the obtained mixture to a support body. An ink receiving layer formed on the support body contains the porous inorganic particulate, the saponified substance of vinyl acetate-diacetone acrylamide copolymer and the crosslinking agent.
