    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-obesity agent, containing a component excellent in anti-obesity activity and also having high safety as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This anti-obesity agent is provided by using an extract of the seeds of a mango (e.g. Mangifera indica) as the active ingredient. The mangoes are plants classified to the plants belonging to the genus Mangifera of family Anacardiaceae, and approximately 200 kinds are present in the world. For example, as apple mangoes produced in Mexico, the kinds of oro, tommy-atkins, hayden, kent, kate, etc., are known, and also a kensington kind from Australia, and a namdokmai kind from Thailand are known, but as the raw material for the anti-obesity agent, they are not especially limited, and any of them can be used.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing endotoxin from endotoxin-containing collagen protein, capable of sufficiently decomposing the endotoxin while suppressing the denaturation or decomposition of the collagen protein itself, thus enabling the resultant collagen protein to be easily isolated and recovered, and to provide such collagen protein markedly freed of endotoxin. SOLUTION: The method for removing endotoxin comprises subjecting the endotoxin to decomposition treatment in such a condition that the endotoxin-containing collagen protein is brought to fibrillated dispersion in a basic alcohol and/or acetone solution and then isolating and recovering the resultant collagen protein.
