    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to control the oscillating amount of cloth feeding by converting the rotating motion of the main shaft of a sewing machine into oscillating motion of an oscillator, transmitting the motion to lengthwise motion of cloth feeding teeth through an oscillating lever, and making the lengthwise motion amount be variable by position adjusting of a rotation shaft to be the center of the oscillating motion of the oscillating lever. SOLUTION: An oscillating mechanism to convert rotation motion of the main shaft 1 of a sewing machine is composed of an eccentric cam, crank rod, etc. And the converted oscillating motion is transmitted to a feed shaft 11. Main feed teeth 3 equipped on a main feed oscillating bar 4 to feed cloth are vertically oscillated by the rotation motion of the main shaft 1 since upper and lower feed pieces 52 and an oscillating bar support shaft 54 are slidably inserted into guide grooves 4a, 4b formed on the main oscillating bar 4. A link mechanism including an oscillating lever 15 is equipped to transmit the oscillating motion of the main shaft 1 to the lengthwise motion of the main feed oscillating bar 4 and the rotation axis b1 to be the rotation center of the oscillating lever 15 is made position-controllable to make the lengthwise motion amount of the main feed teeth 3 be variable.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a universal joint and achieve reduction in cost and miniaturization, in a rocking mechanism which converts a rotary motion of one of two shafts intersecting each other at right angles to a rocking motion of the other axis, by connecting a rocking rod which rocks to a turnable body resting on a rocking arm. SOLUTION: The rocking mechanism 1 converts a rotary motion of a rotary shaft (main shaft) 3 to a reciprocating rotary motion of a rocking shaft (louver shaft) 15 and is preferably used in a louver mechanism of a sewing machine. An eccentric wheel (eccentric cam) 5 is fitted on the main shaft 3 to transmit a rocking motion of a rocking rod 7 integral to the wheel 5 to a rocking arm 13 made integral to the shaft 15 through a connection shaft 9. In the arm 13, a bearing 13a for axially bearing both ends of a rotary roller 11, into which an end of the shaft 9 is fitted, is provided, and at a middle step portion of the bearing 13a, openings 13b, b opened outwardly at a large angle in the rotary direction of the roller 11 so that when the roller 11 rotates, the shaft 9 is prevented from contacting the roller 11.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the collision of a presser member with an upper looper to sufficiently secure the large vertical moving range of the presser member and also to gather and pressurize an object to be sawed to prevent a sawing deviation by constituting the presser member to be moved to a sawing machine front part side in accordance with its elevating quantity. SOLUTION: The object 5 to be sawed is pressurized by a cloth press 6 with a pressing arm 10 by the operation of the pressurizing spring 9 of a presser bar 8 so that the object 5 is made to stable on a placing surface X. When the pressurizing of the object 5 by the cloth press 6 is released, a user step on a pedal 16 so as to draw a pressurizing release arm 14 downwards with a chain 15 and a rotary shaft 13 is rotated counterclockwise. A press rotary arm 11 is lent in accordance with the rotation of the rotary shaft 13, the end part of the presser arm 10 is elevated against the pressurizing spring 9 of the presser bar 8, the cloth press 6 and a thread slip stand 7 are parted upwards are forwards from the object 5 so that pressurizing is released. Thus, the large vertical moving quantity of the cloth press 6 is sufficiently secured.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine in which empty chain stitch and ordinary overlock sewing can be switched by a simple constitution and a simple operation. SOLUTION: In an overlock sewing machine provided with fabric end detectors 14 and 16, a thread tension adjusting device 4 for the ordinary sewing, a thread tension adjusting device 6 for forming an empty chain, switching mechanisms 8, 38 and 50 for switching the thread tension adjusting device and a control means 46 for switching the thread tension adjusting device by means of the switching mechanisms for switching the thread tension adjusting device and performing sewing for forming the empty chain until it reaches a specified length when a fabric of the end of sewing is detected by means of a fabric end detector, switching devices 34 and 134 for mechanically switching the fabric end detector to either working condition or work stopping condition are fitted on the fabric end detector.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable two needles to be vertically located through a throat plate so that no skip stitch is carried out by extending the fluctuating shaft of an upper and a lower looper fluctuating mechanism obliquely on the lower part side of a sewing machine toward the front part side from the rear part side of the sewing machine. SOLUTION: An upper and a lower looper shafts 2, 12 are extended obliquely to the lower part side of a sewing machine toward the front part side from the rear part side of the sewing machine, and a lower looper thread is captured by fluctuating the upper looper 1 by fluctuation of an upper looper shaft 2. In addition, at the same time, an upper looper thread is captured on the sewing machine rear side of the upper looper 1 by needles 32, 33. On the other hand, a lower looper 11 captures a needle thread on the sewing machine rear side of the needles 32, 33. During the operation of the sewing machine, the lower looper 11 is incrementally moved in the horizontal direction of the sewing machine toward the right and the left needle 32, 33 sides while being transferred from the lower dead point of the upper looper 1 upto a position where the upper looper thread is captured by the right needle 32. Further, the lower looper 11 is decrementally moved toward the front part side from the sewing machine rear part side, so that the needles 32, 33 are no longer located vertically on a throat plate.
