    • PURPOSE:To enable the maintaining of a plasma vacuum area at a specified vacuum necessary for a plasma burning operation, by connecting a part of a vacuum wall having an access port formed in a vacuum container to a post section of the vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:A part of a vacuum wall 4 having an access port 5 formed in a vacuum container 1 is connected to a post section 11 of the container 1 and magnetic material 12 is arranged at a heat insulated vacuum area of a toroidal magnetic field coil 7 surrounded by the vacuum wall 14. With such an arrangement, a ripple magnetic field of the toroidal magnetic field is relaxed while the lowering of the vacuum can be prevented at a plasma vacuum area otherwise caused by a gas released from the magnetic material 12. This enables the relaxation of the ripple magnetic field of the toroidal magnetic field without enlarging the coil 7 and the whole of the apparatus while permitting the maintaining of the plasma vacuum area at a specified vacuum necessary for plasma burning operation.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize tritium breeding by providing an outside piping to the outside circumferential side of a cooling piping apart a spacing therefrom and winding a wire spirally on the outside circumference of the cooling piping in order to maintain the spacing between the outside piping and the cooling piping. CONSTITUTION:The outside piping 108 is disposed on the outside circumferential side of the cooling piping 107. This piping 108 is cut at prescribed intervals and are constituted of plural short pipes 108A in order to absorb thermal expansion. A projection 109 is provided on one end face of the pipe 108A and the adjacent short pipe 108A is so constituted that the tight contact of the end face thereof is prevented by the projection 109. The wire 110 is spirally wound on the outside circumference of the piping 107 and the spacing between the pipings 107 and 108 is surely held. The piping 108 is provided on the outside circumferential side of the piping 107 apart the prescribed spacing in such a manner and, therefore, the temp. difference between the piping 107 and a tritium breeder 106 is sufficiently maintained. The tritium breeding is thereby stabilized.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve a simplified construction and a lower cost, by a method wherein a hollow section is formed at a post section of a vacuum container to laminate and house a plurality of magnetic plates at the hollow section in the direction of toroidal so that the magnetic plates can be assembled accurately. CONSTITUTION:A hollow section 16 is formed at a post section 11 of a vacuum container 1 and a plurality of magnetic plates 13 are laminated and housed at the hollow section 16 in the direction of toroidal while the magnetic plates 13 are provided with a coolant passage groove 17 along the direction of toroidal. A coolant supply piping 18 for supplying the coolant to the hollow section 16 and a coolant discharge piping 19 for discharging it from the hollow section 16 are connected to the post section 11. This eliminates a gap between the magnetic plates 13 thereby achieving a higher assembling accuracy of magnetic material. This also can simplify the construction at a gate header section for the coolant thereby enabling the lowering of the cost.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively cool magnetic plates layered in a toroidal direction and obtain high shielding function by housing magnetic plates layered in the toroidal direction in an airtight vessel and connecting feed and exhaust piping of a cooling medium on both ends in the toroidal direction. CONSTITUTION:Feed and exhaust piping 18a, 18b of cooling water are connected to the upper and the lower parts of an airtight vessel 16 in which a plurality of magnetic plates 12 layered in a toroidal direction in the inner part are housed, and these outlet and inlet are opened in a lower header 17a and an upper header 17b formed in a vessel 16. Plural cooling channels 14 are formed in the toroidal direction on each magnetic plate 12 housed in the airtight vessel 16, and both ends of each cooling channel are opened on the lower header 17a and the upper header 17b. But an electric insulator exists among each magnetic plate 12 and in the inner part of the airtight vessel 16, and excess current is reduced. Therefore, a cooling medium flowing in the airtight vessel 16 from the feed and exhaust piping 18a, 18b of the cooling medium is exhausted out of the airtight vessel 16 through the cooling channels 14 of each magnetic plate 12 and so the magnetic plates 12 are effectively cooled.
