    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve drawbacks in a conventional technique wherein a user misses a chance of performing higher communication when handover is activated from the level of a beacon signal to be received, and regular scanning may delay the handover timing while the scanning solves the above problem.
      SOLUTION: If a packet interval during communication is shorter than a usual interval, test is conducted as to whether the communication quality is satisfactory, and if it is longer than the usual interval, each access point AP is scanned at the period of about several seconds. If a result of the communication quality test shows NO, each AP is tested as to whether handover should be performed at the period of about several hundred mm/sec. If the communication quality is satisfactory and the scanning is OK, or if a result of the test is OK as to whether handover should be performed at the period of about several mm/sec, the handover is controlled to establish a link with the AP of handover destination to start communication with the AP of the handover destination.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transmission method and device in a wireless LAN, which can increase the maximum number of simultaneous telephone conversations without deteriorating conversation quality. SOLUTION: Each wireless terminal is connected to a wireless LAN base station via a wireless LAN. From the wireless LAN base station to each wireless terminal, packets are transmitted by a frame burst packet signaling system without using ACK, and a series of header information of the packets is transmitted by a multicast signaling system as a notification packet. From each wireless terminal to the wireless LAN base station, each of individual data packets is transmitted by unicasting using ACK. Each wireless terminal requests to the wireless LAN base station retransmission of a packet which is not received among the frame packets notified by the notification packet. The wireless LAN base station retransmits the packet corresponding to the request by unicasting using ACK to the wireless terminal which has transmitted the request so as to have the terminal receive it.
