    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen producing system for separating hydrogen from a gas of low-concentration hydrogen with a small difference of partial pressure of hydrogen making use of the characteristic of a Nb membrane, and to provide a hydrogen producing system for reforming methane in a gas of low-concentration hydrogen containing methane of high temperature and producing and separating hydrogen from the obtained reformed gas with a small difference of partial pressure of hydrogen. SOLUTION: The system is for separating hydrogen using the Nb membrane from the gas of low-concentration hydrogen at room temperature and atmospheric pressure generated from a generator of the gas of low-concentration hydrogen at room temperature. The hydrogen separating system includes (a) the Nb membrane, (b) a heating means equipped with a burner, (c) a means for supplying the upstream side of the Nb membrane with the gas of low-concentration hydrogen at room temperature and (d) a means for recovering hydrogen in the downstream side of the Nb membrane. The hydrogen separating system is for selectively separating hydrogen from the gas of low-concentration hydrogen by heating the Nb membrane to 300-500°C with (b) the heating means equipped with a burner under (e) the condition that the solid solubility of hydrogen in the Nb membrane C(H/M) is 0.26 or lower.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen separation device whose durability is improved by suppressing the generation of a hole in a palladium-based separation membrane.
      SOLUTION: On the basis of the knowledge that metal particles generated by reducing metal oxide particles stuck to the surface of the palladium-based separation membrane strongly react with the palladium-based separation membrane and are diffused from each other and thus holes are generated, the hydrogen separation device includes a hydrogen separation membrane which sections a primary side space and a secondary side space and includes palladium or a palladium alloy, a gas-to-be-separated supply means for supplying a gas to be separated, which contains hydrogen, to the primary side space, and an oxygen supply means for causing oxygen to be contained in the gas to be separated inside the primary side space when separating the hydrogen from the gas to be separated by the hydrogen separation membrane.
