    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a pantograph by enabling a motor-driven pantograph to be mounted, by controlling the change of a contact force of a slider and a trolley wire at high speed accurately, by reducing maintenance work with a simplified structure, and by maintaining the function of the pantograph even if a motor-driven actuator fails.
SOLUTION: When current collection is performed by pressing the slider 11 against the trolley wire 6 with an elastic support device 9, in which at least the slider 11 is supported by a top end spring 12, arranged on an electric car roof 7; the elastic support device 9 is supported on the roof 7 using both of a pressing cushion device and the actuator 19. By a control signal (u) from an H
∞ controller 23 based on the signals of an accelerometer 24 arranged on the slider 11 and a strain meter 25 arranged on the top end spring 12, the actuator 19 is driven to control the pressing force of the slider 11 so that the change of the contact force of the slider 11 and the trolley wire 6 can be controlled.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fluctuations in the force of contact between the contact strip of a pantograph and a trolley wire.
      SOLUTION: The mass m
1 of the contact block 49, including a contact strip of a pantograph that is brought into contact with a trolley wire and receives a forced displacement y
1 from the trolley wire, is supported through a required spring mechanism 50. At the same time, it is made possible to apply control force f
a by an actuator 51 for active control. Thus, an equation of motion is set up with respect to the mass m
      a of a block 48 to be controlled (S1). Such a control force f
a that the inertia term is reduced as for the inertia term, attenuation term, and spring term of the block 48 to be controlled in this equation of motion is determined (S2). The mass m
a of the block 48 to be controlled is controlled by the determined control force f
      a (S3). Thus, the displacement y
      a of the mass m
a of the block 48 to be controlled is made equal to the forced displacement y
1 received by the mass m
1 of the contact block 49 including the contact strip from the trolley wire both in amplitude and in phase.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the damage of a main motor which can materialize the downsizing, the weight reduction, and the change into electric non-contact by performing the idle detection by the current difference between main motors, on the step of weakish field control in a high-speed range where it is necessary to perform idling detection without fail, and besides which can be mounted to an existing high-voltage circuit by external addition.
SOLUTION: This device is composed of a means which detects the speed control on the weakish field control step in a high-speed range, an ammeter hole CT which is installed in each parallel circuit of main motors 1-4 or 5-8, a current value comparator circuit which compares the output values CT1 and CT2 of the ammeter hole CT, and a control circuit which judges it to be the idling of a wheel and outputs a specified control signal when the output of the current value comparator circuit is at or over a specified value. The control signal is used to switch off a power running circuit or to inform the driver of it by means of a lamp or an alarm, etc.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise which is generated from the collector of a rolling stock and the cavity of a windbreaking cover surrounding a supporting insulator for supporting it.
SOLUTION: For the windbreaking cover which accommodates the collector and the supporting insulator, each of the front and rear of a cavity is provided with an incline which becomes an upgrade, and the height becomes maximum at the cavity section. The quantity of an air current colliding against the supporting insulator and the collector decreases and the level of noise drops by setting the maximum height dimension 50 to 100 mm higher than the height dimension of the supporting insulator. Forming each top edge of the front and rear of the opening of the cavity into a curved surface 50 to 200 mm in radius of curvature will allow the front curved surface to deter an air current having gone up along the slope from flaking off. The rear curved surface thrusts aside the air current smoothly when the air current collides against the rear top edge. As the results of these actions, the noise level drops.
