    • PURPOSE:To contrive operation with an optimum heat pattern and to economize energy by disposing a preheating furnace and heating furnace in parallel, providing an ejection port of the preheating furnace and a charging port of the heating furnace to the side walls so as to face each other and providing a charging port to be exclusively used for hot billets to the other side. CONSTITUTION:The preheating furnace 1 and the heating furnace 2 are disposed in parallel so as to partly overlap the same. The cold billet charging port 3 is provided to the rear end of the preheating furnace 1 and the ejection port 7 is provided to the side face opposite to the heating furnace 2. The charging port 8 is provided to the heating furnace 2 so as to face the ejection port 7. The hot billet charging port 16 is further provided to the wall part of the preheating furnace 1 on the side opposite from the ejection port 7. The cold billets are heated by passing the preheating furnace 1 and the heating furnace 2 and after the hot billets enter the preheating furnace 1, the hot billets are immediately ejected therefrom and enter the heating furnace 2 where the hot billets are heated respectively to prescribed temps. The billets are thereafter ejected from the furnace and are fed to a rolling mill 20. Both the cold billets and the hot billets are heated with the optimum heat pattern according to the above-mentioned mechanism.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformly heat a billet while effectively preventing the overheating of its both ends by providing plural axial burners in parallel on the wall surface of the nose part of the billet heating furnace in a skid group and a side burner on both side wall surfaces and separately controlling the combustion of the burners. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a furnace casing 1 is separated by a nose part 2 into plural zones 3-5, and the axial burner 6, roof burner 7, etc., for blowing off a combustion flame are arranged in the zones. A billet 8 to be treated is transferred in the casing 1 by a transfer mechanism 9 toward the axial outlet 11 from an inlet 10. In this billet heating furnace, the mechanism 9 consists of the moving support 15 of a moving beam 14 and a fixed support 16, and the billet is supported by the skid buttons 13 on horizontal skids 12. Plural axial burners 20 are provided in parallel on the wall surface of the nose part 2 at the intermediate position in the cross direction of the furnace in the skid 12 group, and a side burner 21 is furnished on both side wall surfaces of the casing 1. The fuel supplies to the burners 20 and 21 are separately controlled based on the temps. of the intermediate part in the cross direction of the furnace and the furnace temps. on both sides to uniformly heat the billet 8.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the skid mark on a steel billet by arranging plural posts with interlock as movable vertically at extracting hole side in a furnace, specifying the max. ascending position for the post and holding the steel billet to the post and a walking beam alternately. CONSTITUTION:The steel billet S is carried and heated in the furnace by the walking beam 11 and a fixed beam 12. At the extracting hole side in the furnace body 10, about three pieces or more of posts 21 supporting as receiving the steel billet S by ends thereof from the walking beam 11 are arranged as movable vertically by a rising/falling cylinder 23. Therefore, the steel billet S carried to near the extracting hole is carried on the posts 21 from the walking beam 11 and at the time of confirming, that the billet is surely laid on the posts 1 by a sensor 24, the steel billet S is held alternately by the posts 1 and the walking beam 11, to execute soaking treatment. Further, at the time of positioning, where the posts 1 are the max. height, the consideration is necessary for the relative positions, so as not to cast a shadow of the beam 15 of walking beam 11 on the steel billet S. In this way, the heat received by the lower face of steel billet S is gereally uniformized, and the homogeneous temp. of the steel billet S is improved and the skid mark is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which improves the thermal efficiency of a heating furnace by the constitution in which sealing curtains are doubly provided to the bottom end of a door body for opening and closing the outlet and inlet of the furnace so as to contact gradually the sealing curtain arriving at the pass line for the slab and the slab. CONSTITUTION:An outside sealing curtain 16 arriving at the pass line 4 of a slab 2 and an inside sealing curtain 15 having the length at which the curtain arrives gradually at the slag 2 and is hardly interfered by the passage thereof are provided doubly to the bottom end of a door body 5 for opening and closing an extraction port 3 for the slab 2 of a heating furnace body 1. The door body 5 closing the port 3 is driven by a motor 9 so as to ascend and a cylinder 21 is actuated to bring a sealing table 17 supported by an arm 18 into tight contact with the body 1 in the stage of extracting the slab 2. An extractor is then inserted into the furnace through a notch 22 provided with a sealing cloth 23 of the table 17 to extract the slab 2 by lifting the curtain 16. The construction is similar in the stage of charging the slab 2 into the body 1. The passage of the gas through the slab inlet and outlet is thus suppressed and the thermal efficiency of the furnace is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To burn CO gas with minimum possible amount of air within a range free from explosion of the CO gas by controlling the amount of cool air flowing in according to deviation in comparison with the preset concentration of CO gas detected in a gas from a combustion column. CONSTITUTION:The concentration of CO gas is preset for a CO gas concentration indicator/adjusting meter 15 in a range of allowing no explosion beforehand. If the amount of air flowing in from a cool air inflow duct 13 is small, CO gas generated from an arc furnace 1 remains in a combustion column 5. This CO is detected with a detector 14 and compared with the preset, concentration of CO gas in the CO gas concentration indicator/adjusting meter 15 and a cool air flow control valve 12 is opened according to the deviation signal. When the amount of air flowing in from a cool air inflow duct 13 is too much, the cool air flow control valve 12 is reduced according to a detection value of a CO gas detector 14. This enables the combustion of CO gas with minimum possible amount of air within a range free from the explosion of the CO gas.
